You can't go wrong with a Mossberg 590A1 shotgun, but this version is much more user friendly than all the others. The collapsible stock allows you to find the perfect stock length for you and the tactical tri-rail system allows for easy attachment of foregrips and weapon lights! I highly recommend this shotgun!

I purchased this fine shotgun last year. Fit and finish and functionality are flawless. Excellent shipping and service from Bud's, I even took advantage of the Price Match and recovered a few dollars! I added a vertical grip to the forearm and an M9 bayonet for the baddest gun I own. This was my 5th purchase from Bud's and I wholeheartedly recommend them and Mossberg!

I know I'm going to hurt some feelings out there for you Mossberg lovers, but I have to be honest. I owned a Benelli before this and loved it. I was really turned on however, by Mossberg's reputation and the swagger this gun has aesthetically. Unfortunately, FOR ME, the gun was way too front heavy, the collapsable stock was almost pointless because the gun is so long to begin with, and the overall gun itself seemed a bit rickety. The two rods that extend from the pump are left exposed and almost felt like if you caught your hand just right they would snag you. Finally, my BIGGEST aggravation with this gun: The gun comes with two picatinny rails, one on the left and one on the right. I removed the left picatinny rail because I am right handed and have no need for a rail also on the left, but as soon as I unscrewed it from the outside, two small nuts fell inside of the pump area. These cannot be removed unless the entire weapon is stripped. This is not just me, but just how the gun is constructed..how annoying! Combined with the weight of the gun, and the fact that just racking the slide to empty a couple of loaded shells caused the gun to jam, this Mossy just wasn't for me. Sold it without ever having fired it.

I'm really on the fence about the gun. Mossberg has an unquestionable reputation of excellence and reliability and this cannot be argued. However, I owned a Benelli Nova before purchasing this item and I'm feeling a bit of remorse on having traded up for the 590a1. First things first, the gun is a little heavy, especially on the fore end. I love the ammo capacity, but perhaps this is what makes it heavier? Second, I unscrewed the left hand side picatinny as I have no use for 2 and two small hex nuts placed inside the gun fell down into the actual pump. I'm going to have to field strip the entire gun just to get two little hex nuts out and that really got me irritated. The gun itself also is pretty long, so there isn't much use for the collapsible stock for me because any more than one position out and it's way too uncomfortable. For all of you Mossberg lovers out there, please take no offense, just wanted to relay my personal opinion.

Awsome gun loaded with extra features already on the gun. Gun has performed flawlessly for more than 500 rounds so far. Ghost ring sites are perfect and the picatinny tri-rail will be handy when I decide to mount a light on the forend. Special thanks to Buds for handling my situation with the 930 and getting me this gun so fast.

A:Charles, no Sir it is not. The above model #53693 has built on Picatinny Rails on the pump handle and Model #50769 has an M-LOK Slotted pump handle. Other than the pump handle type they are identical. -
