I have read horror reviews about other Mossberg shotguns similar to this one. Just got it and shot a box of winchester bird shot #8 and it functioned great. I checked to see if the screws on the bases were loose or were coming loose, and they were good. The shells loaded just fine: seven for 2 3/4 and six for 3 inch. Everything seems to be ok. Finish was perfect, ceracote, so I hope I got lucky with this gun. Mossberg is top of the line when it comes to shotguns, but alot of the reviews on buds seem to counter this opinion.

Buds was great as well as there cust. service. This is my 8th purchase. All have been speedy. Cons with the shotgun. Chamber is very oily, after cleaning I kept getting falure to ejects but after 150 rounds, the shells don't get stuck anymore in the chamber. Before I had to use a wooden dow to pop em out. The picatinny rail screws flew out after 50 rounds. The tube only took 5 rounds. the mag spring was kinked up bad in the extension tube and was very bent .Mossberg wanted me to send it back through fedex. 15 bucks for the box n 17 for packing. Almost 40 bucks to send back a new shotgun. I called em back and they sent me a new spring and screws. Make sure to blue loctite them down. The forend had to be shaved on the muzzlend to allow the extension tube to tighten down enough so the follwer won't bind on the extension tube threads. Once I shaved it down it started to accept all 7 rounds.

Pros. The shotgun works great now with the easy fix of shaving the forend down. Before it only showed 4 threads on the magtube with the extension off. I shaved it to show 5 1/2 threads. This allowed to tighten two more turns and now the forend doesn't wobble. Screws where sent and I loctited them and do not move. The spring works well. I broke in this shotgun with federal birdshot. About 250 rounds from Walmart. It won't cycle winchester the dark grey box of birdshot. I like federal Anyway. It works like a champ. Buds gunshop cust. Service called immediately when they found I had problems which is a huge plus. I will definatelt buy from here again. 5 stars to buds. 3 to mossberg .

First let me say that this shotgun shoots as well as it looks. I've run about 25 rounds through it so far which isn't that many, but they were various sizes. 2¾ buckshot cycled perfectly as did the 2¾ slugs. I shot a couple of 3 inch buckshot, no problem either. The shotgun is very smooth and accurate. I hit an 8 inch steel plate at 65 yards over and over with federal 2¾ rifled slugs. I quickly and easily installed a sling and it shoulders well. I can't wait to stalk some hogs and light em up with the generous 8 shell capacity. The gun is heavy, same as an AR-15. But for me that's not a big deal. So far my love for this Mossberg matches my desire to get it. Its very expensive for another toy but worth having in your arsenal. I cycled Federal, S&B, and Remington shells through it with no issues. I recommend this shotgun to anyone who wants a top of the line gun for alot less than foreign made shotguns. This bad boy is made in the USA. Mossberg has made me proud once again and I would definitely buy another one. The sights are big and easy to use or you can put your own scope on the picatinny rail that's factory mounted this gun. So, end of review. Buy it. You'll be glad you did. I am glad I did.
