We just purchased a very limited supply of NEW SURPLUS Walther P1's, still sealed in the original packaging.

The Walther P-1 is a post WWII version of the P38.  It has an alloy frame, double action/single action trigger, right hand safety/decock lever, European style heel magazine release and falling block barrel lock-up design with a parkerized finish and black plastic grips.  Original WWII P38's had steel frames.  The P-1/P38 barrel and safety/decock design was the predecessor to the famous Beretta 92 series (Military M9) pistols.

I ordered a walther P1 from Buds Guns. It arrived approx. 2 weeks ago. It was in excellent condition and showed almost no wear. I cleaned the pistol before I shot it, but was very disappointed when the pistol would not extraxt the spent round. I ran two magazines through the pistol, but had to use the slide to manually eject each round after every shot. It was not limp wristing that caused the problem, so now I have to visiit a gunsmith and spend about fifty dollars to get the pistol repaired. Very disappointing after spending $399.00 for a pistol that doesnt't work....

Received my p1 today and it is in excellent condition. Matching serial numbers absolutely no rust or scratches, and it has the hex pin reinforced frame. I could not be happier with my purchase, it is just an awesome gun.

Pistol came in very good/excellent condition. A few blemishes in finish but nothing that you would expect for any gun of this age. No cosmoline really, easy to clean, and when oiled up runs very smooth. Overall Im satisfied as this was a fun and accurate pistol to shoot.

When you get yours, realize it has been sitting in a box for 30+ years. Take it apart and bathe it in Acetone. (You will have to repaint the sights). After you have done these TINY little things it will function flawlessly. Thanks Buds for the opportunity!

I purchased two of these and they arrived in brand-new, unfired condition. Absolutely outstanding!

Can not begin to express my satisfaction with this purchase. The quality and reliability of a Walther P38 with the lighter weight that comes with the P1 frame. Smooth, reliable, a real pleasure. There is a reason these weapons were produced for so long. Wish it came with 2 mags but surplus can be had for a few bucks.

Gun was in over all great shape new surplus as promised did have a couple scratches on it but not a big issue at all for surplus, after cleaning up and oiling it shoots great at least first fifty down range today. Wish i would have bought two when i had the chance.

This item represented the 7th order placed with Buds. While I was concerned with the 21 day span from order date to delivery (well outside the parameters of all previous orders) the product arrived in superb condition. Balancing the quality of the product with the slow delivery anomaly, I have to weigh heavily in favor of the product. Well done. Patience is a learned attribute. I will be back with my next 7 orders exclusively from Buds.

This item is not "NEW IN FACTORY SEALED PACKAGE" I believe it is NEW - unissued surplus, but it has definately been "repackaged" The pistol DOES NOT include an extra magazine but it DOES include a "cheesy" photo copy of the manual. The ONLY reason I accepted the pistol was because it is afair price for a pistol which is in "as good as new" condition. Another case of "If its too good to be true - it probably is". Pistol was not even shipped from Bud's. I don't know- just really disappointed!

I picked up my P38 today from my FFL and was pleased with the overall condition. Mine was marked P38 and 10/62 so a fine sample of cold war era equipment. The numbers all matched and it came with an extra firing pin (but only one mag and no holster per the item description).

I rated the pistol a four because there are some scuff marks on the grips, scratches on the slide finish and the mag release is really tight. All of this might be mitigated with a good cleaning (the gun was pretty dry) and oiling. Of course, it is almost 50 years old so pristine condition should not necessarily be expected.

Overall I feel it was a fair price but not a grand bargain. That said, I trust Bud’s service which makes the transaction a satisfying one in my mind.
