My score for this gun is a 4 to 4.5. Out of the Box there is some fit and finish problems but very minor. In terms of the fit and finish there are some sharp edges and corners but that's more on the wood grips and the Ejector tube. Where the grips come to a point it is a little sharp and along the total length of the ejector tube it is razor sharp so be careful not to run your finger along The Ejector tube. The bluing is amazing Good quality. If you pay close attention throughout the gun you can see some Tool marks in some very small places. The wood grips have a good grain to them and a nice finish. The blade front sight is very easy to line up mine shoots a little to the left. When put into half kock the cylinders rotate very easily and has a very clear and distinct click. The action at 1st was not smooth but after just cycling the action many many times made it smoother and feels good. The trigger is the same way mine breaks approximately around 5 to 6 pounds it has a little take up and then breaks clean. The 38 special I was shooting had little to no recoil Very easy to shoot. Shooting 357 magnum was snappy But performed as expected be careful if you shoot 357 in an indoor range lots of percussion and shock waves. Would highly recommend for 1st time large bore revolver owners.

I love the new model vaquero. To me these r the sleekest, basic,no frills gun. One purpose. Load and shoot. Tact driving ability if u still have good eye sight. I will alway have a vaquero in my safe. A++++++

The pistol is perfect for my needs..I am doing quick draw using wax bullets and this pistol is just perfect both firing wise and price wise. So Far I have fired this gun using fifty rounds and next week should get to fire again. (Looking forward to my next firing day...) This is one great gun a little on the heavy side but balanced perfect...Like the gun is made for quick draw..

First, this pistol is even better looking than the picture showed. Bud's shipment was fast and there was no defects in the pistol. Bud's have a great setup with the FFL's. Will be working with Bud's again in the near future.

Fit and finish looks really good. Trigger pull is light. Very good gun for the money. I'll know more when I get it cleaned up and shoot it. Buds was pretty fast took about a week to get to Alaska, My FFL was great also.

The picture on this page does not do justice to how good this weapon looks, let alone feels. The wood grips are beautiful! The balance is perfect, the trigger pull light enough, and the cylinder tight. Not a true Colt replica, but I knew that in advance. Still, it is VERY close in look, feel, and action, with the exception of the hammer cock: three clicks instead of the traditional four. The reason is that it has the transfer bar as a safety measure. That said, I'm so used to leaving a chamber empty that I shot it that way and, as the manufacturer notes, that is always the safest way to carry a single action..I took it home, removed the cylinder (spring-loaded retainer, not 1873 screw style) and cleaned off the packing grease, which was very light, actually. I took it to the range, where It ate fifty rounds of 158 grain led .38 Special with no problems at all. Virtually no recoil with the 5 1/2 inch barrel. I think my wife would like to shoot it! The sights are in line, best as I could tell without going to a bench rest. The revolver definitely seemed more accurate than the shooter at 15 yds! So at this point, I am perfectly satisfied that I got what I paid for. Bud's was great, as was my FFL. I also picked up a belt and holster from Heritage. Very please cowboy, here!

A:Frank, no "Manual Safety" but it features a frame mounted inertia firing pin and transfer bar for added protection.See 1 more answer | -

A:yes it will .357 revolvers can shoot .38 special ammo with no issue you will just have to clean the carbon ring from inside the chamber after shooting a lot of .38 special as the case is a little shorter and the carbon buildup can make inserting .357 rounds more difficultSee 2 more answers |
