Shipping was fast. Cleaned it really good and oiled it before going to the range. I only shot 50 rounds that day but it worked flawlessly. Very accurate right out of the box. Very happy with it.

Thought I wanted a striker fired .45 ACP, so I bought a Springfield Armory XDM from BUDS. Never fired it , but the more I looked at it, the more I felt unsafe to carry it. So I traded it with BUDS for a Rock Island Armory 1911 A1 .45ACP. Buds gave me a very fair trade-in. Love the weapon, and the fair deal BUDS gave me. Both Buds and RIA get a 5-star rating from me.

Dependable, Affordable Absolute "Tack Driver"! This makes my 3rd R.I. 1911 purchase.. I brought 675 rounds of Wolf, Winchester white box, Remmington, PMC and a bag of old "Mix-Matched" .45 ACP rounds to the range, just kept loading magazine after magazine. Even left handed & "Limp Wristed" the thing. It kept running. Whomever is machining these pistols is trying to and outdoing the aforementioned manufacturers. Remember the first round you chambered in a brand new Sig 1911? I do. And this pistol didn't FTF. Came AS PICTURED with the exact grips. Buds' service here again second to none!I WILL buy another Rock Island weapon. 5/5 Stars to Bud's AND Rock Island.

Wow! Absolute "Tack Driver"! This makes my second R.I. 1911 purchase.. I have owned or currently own Kimber, Colt, Sig Sauer, Remmington, Ruger and Springfield 1911's...Buying a weapon based upon other's reviews was "Iffy" I admit. But, Rock Island's 1911 G.I. model here impressed me and the guys who met me at the range with to INTENTIONALLY "Break it In" with. I was actually trying to cause it FTF or FTE.. Couldn't be done. The G.I. sights were a bit weird to get used to but I did notice some type of notch or "Indicator" on the front sight though. NICE! Remember the first round you chambered in a brand new Sig 1911? Buds processes order fast...easy..and simple..fit and finish is great ..gun arrived with different grips than pitured ...but no big deal..I was planning to replace them anyway...point of aim with 230 ball......I reccomend this 1911 if you are looking for a reliable GI model .

I am very satisfied! Bud's shipped it fast. I ordered it on a Friday and received it the following Thursday. The gun game with wooden grips which really look good on it. I wasn't sure beforehand but glad they came with them. The gun is very high quality for the price. I have done a lot of research and have only read good things about RIA. After taking it to the range, I am one of them also. I will buy from Buds again!

I was looking for a basic bare bones GI 1911. This fills the bill. The firearm comes with smooth wood grips and not the grips pictured. I replaced them with Vietnam era GI 1911A1 plastic grips. The trigger pull is very smooth. The slide fit is tight. The barrel is tight. I'm glad I chose the DuraCoat finish. It looks great. Its very smooth and even. You can tell this is a very professionally done finish and not some home spray and oven bake job. The DuraCoat seems like it aids in parts movement as the slide and other moving parts feel lubricated even though they are dry. Also it seems very durable as usually other finish show wear marks when the thumb safety is moved up and down. Also the front of the slide on 1911's show wear marks on the slide after a couple of rounds are chambered. Not this finish, it's tough as nails. Not one bit of finish loss after many thumb safety, trigger pulls and slide actions. I have never seen this in any of the previous 1911's I've owned. The finish looks great and protects well. So it looks like the DuraCoat is a winner and so is the RIA 1911.
