I am 110% satisfied with this purchase and the customer service from Buds. This rifle is a lot "grayer" than in the pics and the muzzle break is the same color as the barrel, not how it looks in the picture and is a very good looking rifle in person. I lapped the factory rings that came with the rifle and it did not take much to get them perfect. The factory trigger is clean and crisp, but was at about 6 pounds factory. With a ernie the gunsmith trigger spring for less than $10 the trigger broke at 4.25 pounds. Shooting Federal Premium 180 Grain Trophy Bonded Tip this rifle is getting sub-moa groups. The recoil from this rifle is between a .243 and a .270 with the muzzle break. When searching for a 300 win mag I was non-bias about firearm brands and searched the internet like crazy on all rifles and reviews. You will not find a better deal on a rifle that is stainless, has a Hogue stock, factory muzzle break, comes with factory rings and is sub-moa. This is my first Ruger bolt action rifle and will not be my last.

I bought this gun for long range mule deer hunting & it did not disappoint me! The gun shoots as good as any out of the box rifle I have ever owned!Te Rubber stock has a nice soft feeling to it, that really grips shooting sticks, feeling more stable on them than a wood stock! The replaceable muzzle break is just as Ruger advertises it, with the weigh on instead of break, point of impact changed very little! Like another reviewer I was a little disappointed my gun did not have 2 front swivel studs as pictured? This was my first purchase from Bud`s, & it went thru without a hitch, Good price & fast secure shipping! Bud`s will be my first stop for any new gun purchases from now on!

When I bought this rifle I was looking for something I could use for Hunting and Long range target shooting and be completely reliable under any environmental conditions. This Hawkeye was not made to turn heads but I think it is beautiful for simplicity and ruggedness. The dark grey stainless barrel is much darker in person than the picture. With federal gold medal match I have put 1/4 in groups at 100 yards using a swfa Super Sniper 10X42. I have the weigatinny ruger rail adapter so I cant say how well the scope sits with the stock rings because the rail raises it higher. It is worth noting that with a bipod installed and the weight of the barrel bearing down, the hogue stock will lightly touch the barrel. This is usually a no go for long range shooters who preach a free floating barrel is a MUST. My experience with this rifle has proved that wrong, and the soft rubber i believe has little to no effect on accuracy at all compared to a wood or hard polymer stock. The stock touches the barrel LIGHTLY in the same place, only when its resting on your bipod! it is not heavily resting on the barrel at all. In the buds picture of it looks like there are 2 separate bipod mounts, but there is only the 1 mounted closest to the muzzle. There are not many you tube videos about this rifle, but there are some for the rem 700 with the hogue stock and most shooters say the same thing about non free floating hogue.

Love the Rifle, and Buds is Great :)

This is a beauty of a rifle. It's a little heavier than my savage 300 win mag but,for great reasons ! Heavy duty Hogue stock ,great trigger system also a straight shooter . I would recommend if you're mounting a scope with 50mm bell or bigger to buy the #6 high mount with the rifle since the #4 and #5 that's sent with the rifle only accommodates up to a 42mm bell . The part # on the Ruger site is 92084 (6K) (stainless) for $39.49 with a 20% discount + S/H included. Once again Buds did not disappoint me one bit . I have purchased 6+ guns through buds without hassle or long periods of waiting and I will continue to buy my guns from Buds !! Thank You Buds Guns for outstanding excellent service and quality . I look forward to future business endeavors with you .
