Tin, ordinarily, Federal Law does not require such firearms to be transferred through a licensed FFL. So you can buy a black powder (i.e. muzzleloader, cap-and-ball, or per4cussion cap -- or flintlock, for that matter) rifle or revolver or single-shot dueling pistol anywhere. There is no background check, no federal form 4473, nothing. ***That said, I would check with the ATF or your local Chief Law Enforcement Officer, i.e. Sheriff or Police Chief.***

Tin, A non-immigrant alien who is not a permanent resident as a general rule cannot purchase firearms in the USA. There are exceptions for import/export, law enforcement and hunting but except for hunting, these exceptions are difficult to qualify for and if you do, you already know whether or not you can follow through. Only citizens and permanent residents can purchase firearms freely subject to local, State and Federal restrictions. For non-immigrant aliens, non-residents can’t purchase guns at all. Borrow them, rent them but not purchase. For non-immigrant aliens, those in possession of a valid hunter safety certificate in their state of residence and can prove said residency can purchase firearms for that sporting purpose. That means you can’t just purchase anything and you may be required to demonstrate why that Glock you want to buy relates to hunting. You will likewise be subject to all local and State restrictions and they may not permit a non-Green Card holder to meet their purchase requirements if they are allowed to do so under Federal law. Muzzle Loaders have Federal laws and separate state laws. You should search your specific state laws about muzzle loaders.

Per the Manufacturer - All of our muzzle- loading firearms can be used with Triple Seven Pellets. We recommend that a 100 grain charge of two pellets be used with the Wolf rifle as it has a shorter 24” barrel and cannot properly burn much more than that. It is safe to use up to a three pellet charge however for accuracy purposes we would recommend two pellets While it has the bullet guiding muzzle, The barrel is rifled, at a 1:28 twist rate.

Paul, yes on the use of Pelletized Powder and the 24" Stainless Steel Barrel with Bullet Guiding Muzzle has a 1:28” rifling twist, making it suitable for most full size (non-saboted) projectiles.

Purchased the CVA Wolf in stainless because I found some damage in the barrel of a blue one I had. CVA Wolf is the perfect size for hunting N Central Fl. The sights are a "just in case" I encounter a scope issue. Which only happened once many years ago hunting in PA. But, the scope issue cost me a beautiful ten-point buck standing broadside digging dried leaves from under the snow. That picture will forever be in my mind. I never bought a cheap scope again! I buy, quality in every part of my outdoor equipment. CVA Wolf has put meat in the freezer and I have had no issues at all. It's quality at an affordable price.

Good price, arrived quickly. Bought for my son age 10, he will be hunting elk with me this year for the first time, if he can handle the recoil. I have not shot this one yet, but my other CVA muzzle loader performs well.

Bud's had the CVA Wolf on sale at under $200, and I couldn't pass it up. Just wanted a second muzzle loader with open sights to hunt deep woods this season. I could not be more pleased. The Wolf fit and finish is good, but not great. But it's performance is equal to my Encore, costing 4 times the price of the Wolf. The sights are very visible fiber optic, and adjust easily. After zeroing, I initially tried 240 grain hollow point sabots, and the Wolf produced 3" groups at 50 yards with 100 grains 777. But when I switched to 250gr ballistic tip sabots, the Wolf spit nice 1" groups right on target at 50 yards, and was dead on at 100 - with the factory open sights!! I have considered making the Wolf my primary muzzle loading rifle this season. I considered mounting a scope on it, but it shoots so good with the factory sights, I have decided to leave it as is. For the money, you can't go wrong with the CVA Wolf. It is a fun, light, fast handling muzzle loader!!
