When I first received the 5903 I was a bit disappointed with the finish. Scratches were to be expected, but this one had gouges in the frame just above the trigger. Metal is missing in spots as if it had been dropped on gravel. The redeeming factor is that the trigger is the smoothest DA/SA that I\'ve encountered, even compared to new guns. Excellent functionality as well.

This was my first purchase through Bud's Guns and I couldn't be happier. I was a little worried about buying a gun online and wasn't sure how it was going to work out, but it went very smooth.
As far as the S&W 5903 is concerned; it was in WAY better condition that I would have ever expected for the price. The finish and grips were in great shape and the holster wear was minimal. The barrel looks practically new. I have had zero malfunctions through about 350 rounds. 59 series guns are great and for this price, a must have for your collection.

Sweet pistol. Slight wear on grips from holster but it's to be totally expected buying a used police officers gun. I'm sure I will shoot it soon but everything seems to be in perfect working order... Thanks buds

Sure, it wasn't in top notch perfect condition and has a few things I would like to do to it. But for my first handgun, this is just perfect for me! Will definitely keep using Bud's for any firepower needs.

I am so darn happy. After cleaning up the 5903, it actually looks better than the picture above, plus hogue grips! The magazine is S&W factory with the name "KOJAK" etched on the side. The pistol has been used (obviously) but only enough to be properly broken in. The barrel and other critical parts have been custom polished to a smooth shine. Function is flawless. This is my new "everything pistol", I will be selling my M&P because I don't see myself needing to carry/use it anymore. To the warehouse folks that filled my order: thank you so much, ya'll know how to take care of your customers :) I will be ordering from Buds again - keep them deals coming!

I was pleasantly surprised at the condition of this particular pistol. Reading some of the previous reviews I was worried this might be beat to death when I opened the box. It is a police gun and it does show some wear. However most of that is contained to the Hogue grips. The rest of the gun is in a somewhat dirty condition but it should clean up fairly easily. There did not seem to be any serious wear on the metal parts and the finish looks very good overall.
I did manage to run a couple magazines through this pistol and it cycled quite nicely. However, my 12 year old son had some trouble with a failure to eject which I would probably attribute to him not being able to get a solid enough grip on the pistol (limp wristing). I'm not sure if this has had a heavier spring installed at some point which might be part of his issue.
For a nice reliable 3rd generation Smith, this is a good bargain and I am quite happy with it. Now it is time to pull it apart and give it a though cleaning.
The transaction with Bud's was great.

Picked this gun up last week from my FFL and I have to say condition is at least 90% and the 10% knock off is from holster wear. Who ever this gun was issued to, must of been the guy who sat at the desk or made doughnut runs, LOL!
Honestly, if this gun had any rounds chambered through it, it was very few. The internals look like new.
Took it out yesterday for some range time and it shot 100%. Rapid fire, slow fire, double action, no problems at all!
If you have been wanting one of these, better get one now!
Oh yea, and the guys at BUDS: Nothing but great service as usual. Fast shipping too!

I might have gotten lucky with mine but it came in really good condition. There is a bit of holster wear (~80%) but the barrel and everything else internally cleaned up really well. So far I have only shot 50 rounds through it but no FTF or FTE. The sights were a bit dirty so I ended up repainting them. Overall I am very happy with this purchase.
