I've been testing a whole lot of different 45-70 ammo after purchasing a Pedersoli HogBuster 1886 Winchester - this load is much lighter than I prefer and would require much scope adjustment. I more like the "brother" Hornady FTX load at 325 grains and feel that since it groups well in my firearm it is my choice over this 250 grain load. That said, I have no emperical data that says the 250 grain load isn't sufficient for Whitetail.
