Just received The Judge. Everything works good. Smooth trigger action in single or double mode. Finish is good, considering price. A solid revolver. Haven't got to the range to shoot it yet. Fantastic price, $80.00 less than at one of the box stores.

Buds is a;ways a pleasure to deal with but this is a product review so here is mine.

First the good. I like the idea behind this revolver and the .45lc and .410 are both very effective loads.
Its very manageable and fun to shoot. The rubber grip helps reduce the recoil.
Accuracy is pretty impressive with the .45lc at 25 yards. (that was as far as I shot it)
Looks intimidating with the huge cylinder and large bore.
Great price at buds.

The bad : Its a taurus revolver. It not only "still" has the famous taurus lock up , but the first 10 shots fired in double action were light strikes and didn't fire the rounds. After those it worked fine.
My other taurus is a .357 mag (669cp) I purchased back in the early 90's. And it unfortunately has the "lock up" in double action as well.
Not sure how I feel about the dull finish. It was wore shiny in one spot where it was rubbing in the box. Shiny finishes rub dull and the dull finish rubs shiny. LOL

My conclusion is the same as it always has been. Taurus is a fine gun for recreational shooting but I would not consider it to protect my life. The last thing you want in a moment of need is to have to open the cylinder and close it in order for it to fire. Come on taurus. Fix this problem already !!
If I was looking for a CHEAP gun for defense , I'd have to consider a hipoint before a revolver from taurus. Sorry but its the truth.
But to just have a nice plinker or range gun taurus is fine. Personally this purchase was for the venomous snakes while metal detecting the back woods so most shots would not be in double action.
I am giving this gun 4 stars because its what I was expecting ,but wanted to let others know that it does still have its flaws.

I bought the Judge for one reason and one reason only SNAKES. I have a lake behind my house and love fishing it but hate the water snakes that have invaded it. Water snakes have a REAL bad attitude and the Judge calms them down very nicely. I highly recommend this gun. And as always Buds was great! this was my 3rd gun from Buds and won't be my last

Revolver came with a disfigured ratchet on the cylinder. The ratchet was not uniform and looked like it had been hacked at with a screwdriver. It originally wouldn't cycle all 5 chambers. This was remedied by forcibly squeezing the trigger in double action which re-cut and re-formed the ratchet grooves that were misfunctioning. I did this many times until the two trouble spots were made smooth. Days later the catch, that keeps the cylinder from spinning, became stuck under the frame. I had to fish it out.
Other than it essentially breaking twice on me, it functions fairly well. I was surprised at the accuracy of the .45 colt ammo, and the 000 buck Federal .410 handgun ammo has a nice spread at 10-20ft. I would however recommend trying a longer barrel or a different gun if anyone wants to shoot smaller shot. I tried #8 bird shot and it came out of the barrel at almost a 180 degree spread. Meaning, I saw shot hit the ground just a couple feet past my own feet when pointing the gun straight forward. I was hoping to be able to squirrel hunt with it for S's and G's, but I don't think that would be safe after seeing the spread.

An absolute sweetheart to shoot! After ordering one from Bud I was afraid to shoot it. So i finally took it out to the desert and set up 5 beer bottles and stood back about 10 yards aimed and pulled the hammer and squeezed the trigger. The bottles disapeared!! This is the best revolver I have ever shot I couldnt believe how manageable the recoil was, and how good the trigger pull is. This is my favorite handgun now and I take it everywhere I go. I trust my life with this gun. And Bud's service and prices are unbeatable I will from now on be making all my gun purchases from Bud's.

An absolute sweetheart to shoot! After ordering one from Bud's, I heard about issues with .410s hanging up in the cylinder and needing a little extra convincing to get them out. Using both Winchester and remington loads, I experienced nothing but the spent rounds coming out nice and smooth. Pattern with it spreads open fairly quickly, but can still ruin an attacker's day within 5-10 yards. The .45 end of this piece performed admirably. I was quite impressed with it's accuracy at a pop can at 10 yards, standing in a cold wind and shivering. Recoil was extremely managable with the 2 1/2" 6 shot .410s or the 225gr hornady leverevolution rounds. The less than stellar looking Ribber Grips are, if nothing else, extremely comfortable. This has now become the gun I will keep in my car and the gun I will take hunting and fishing. If I didn't love guns sooooo much, I could probably get rid of a couple with the aquisition of The Judge. I love it! If you've been sitting on the fence on this one, I sincerely hope you fall on the side of getting one, especially before the government decides you aren't allowed to get one!
