I've been shooting for 50 years - I must say this is one of the most inaccurate pistols I've ever had the displeasure to shoot.

Other than long shipping time, love the gun. No misfires, recoil not too bad for a small .40. It shoots consistently left even after adjusting the sights, gonna have to move the entire rear sight over a bit. At 12 yards with quick shots it will stay on an 8-1/2 x 11 sheet of paper....good enough for a carry gun! Wore it concealed on my waist all afternoon one day comfortably. Trigger nicer than my buddies glock ( in my opinion ) with the continuous firing feature in case of misfire ( no misfires so far! ). Great gun for the money based on my ownership of two Sigs in .40
Only caution would be to not recommend if you have extra large hands, I wear large gloves and it is just barely comfortable for me.

I purchased 2 of these as concelal carry weapons for my wife and I, and I a very pleased. They came with 1 extra mag, which is good since they are impossible to find elsewhere. Very pleased with the service from Buds.

just got the gun and as promised was covered in manufacture oil/grease but that was to be expected because these guns sit in warehouses for months or even years, therefore some type of preservative must be used but all in all GREAT gun! If you are wondering about the size it is in me and my husbands opinion the perfect back pocket or purse gun although it is definetly a contender for home defense since it is chambered in 40 s&w and comes with an extra magazine . I call it a pocket rocket. the only thing i wish is that i could find the 8+1 extended mag then it would be perfect but to make a long story short im highly satisfied with the purchase and buds low prices and timely shipping will be doing business with them again very soon.

Excellent service from Bud's as always.
VERY pleased with this pistol... was not sure just how small it was, it's barely 1/4" longer overall than a Kel-Tec P11... would fit the Kel-Tec holster if trigger guard were more square in front.
Moderate recoil, short grip feels awkward at first but Pearce makes a nice one finger mag extension that completely changes the felt recoil. ... pretty nice accuracy, a little odd to take apart, need three hands until you get used to it.
Very handy to have a .40 that fits in your pocket. If Taurus would just step up in quality control there'd be no reason to buy any other brand.
And.. oh yeah... don't get forgetful and try to rack the slide with the internal lock engaged. Not admitting anything but I hear the slide will pull back about 1/2 an inch and then lock up tight.

Excellent service from Bud's as always and I have purchased several guns from them in the past couple of years. Shot over 100 rounds and no problems. Clean the gun first because it is covered in grease when you first receive it. Had a hard time adjusting the sights as it shot about 3 inches low. I don't know if I was holding the gun wrong, but I rubbed a bad blister on my trigger finger--may have been caused because I wore a latex glove when I was shooting it in order not to be covered with powder residue. Fairly easy to field strip once you get the hang of it. Great to conceal, but my favorite gun to shoot is the S&W M&P 45C. The Taurus has a lot more kick than the 45--not sure why that is, but it is.

I received this fast from Bud's. Shot 100 rounds through it yesterday with only one misfire, but I pulled the trigger again, and the round fired. Easy to break down, but you have to remember to push the lever down on both sides of the barrel, not just one side. It has a little kick, as you would expect from a small pistol shooting 40 cal rounds. The sights were a pain to adjust as it shot about 2 inches low at 7 yards. The instructions do not tell you which way to adjust, so here it is: if you want to raise the hit on the target, you must raise the rear sight by turning the screw counterclockwise(instructions leave that part out). It is not nearly as good a weapon as my S&W 45c, but then it is a lot cheaper, and smaller, so I think it will be a great concealed weapon with a lot of punch. I don't know if I was not holding the gun correctly, or the fact that I wore rubber gloves, but I got a blister on the right side of my trigger finger and I am right handed (I still haven't figured that one out). It is very difficult to get 6 rounds in the magazine--the last one is virtually impossible, so I ordered a Butler Creek Uplula magazine loader when I got home from shooting. Unfortunately, Bud's does not have the model for higher calibers(they have the one for 22-380), so I ordered it elsewhere. My local gun stores did not have it either, so they must be in short supply. You must clean this gun well before you shoot it because it is pretty greasy. Hope this helps.

Great service once again from BUDs!

I can't speak for anyone else but the Taurus 740 Slim performs above my expectations and certainly is steadfastly reliable at the range. The grip is great for smaller stature shooters such as myself. Recoil is obviously a bit more than my range .40. The trigger has a long travel before breaking and takes getting used to. I spent about 52 rounds just acquainting myself with the trigger yesterday. As far as accuracy, the rear sight is adjustable but the signs of lobster claw/wrist break are operator error and just a matter of practice.

For a CCW, the Slim .40 is excellent and didn't break the bank; I can still afford to purchase ammo and range time.

Taurus did a good job on the slim.

Some words of advice: Thoroughly clean this gun BEFORE shooting the first time. The action is gooey with grease and will cause many problems unless well cleaned beforehand.
