Meat n’ Potatoes.. hands down the BEST shotgun you could own for home defense.. Would I like a Benelli M4, Hell yeah, but I don’t have $2 Grand right now.. but that’s next on the list.. Classic Remington 870 pump, you can’t do wrong.

Bought this for my hidden spot for the house. Shoots great. Couldn't have asked for a better gun.

I really like this 870 because it will work with both the shorter security barrel and the longer hunting barrel. It also has the tactical or corncob forend with looks pretty cool.

I bought this shotgun to replace the PASI 12 ga I had previously purchased. The Rem has all the quality that I missed in the PASI. I have never fired the REM 870 but like it and have confidence that it fills my requirement. When a friend expressed in the PASI I immediately sold it to him.

This purchase will be for a customized tactical build for a friend. It's my first Remington 870 build. The last 3 mossberg 500's. The moment I took it from the box I could feel a difference it's as solid as a tank. The mossberg is not as beefy as this. The action is butter smooth, I haven't added any lube yet. The Finnish is excellent and tough. I like it I like it so much I'm getting one for my next build.

Love my 870. Clean no rust no dust from sitting on a shelf. Zero problems have fired about ten shells with no issues. No front sight bead falling off lol Buds did a great job. Had my ffl on record so all i had to do was pick it up. Will buy from buds again. And recommend. Clean action cycles smoothly. For anyone else looking into building onto this gun. This does come with the dimples in the mag tube. So they will have to be drilled out for installation.

It's a Remington 870. What more can you ask for? I see some reviews complaining about the finish. The finish on the gun isn't stunning or plated with gold, but I imagine it sat on a shelf with thousands more 870s in a warehouse somewhere. I can manage to wipe off a little bit of residue when it arrives to me because I know these things are made by the truckload. The finish will also have no effect on the performance of the shotgun - it will still fire every time. I'm not completely badmouthing the finish by any means, but know what you're getting into. I also advise you wipe it down after each outing - I've seen a friend's 870 rusty after a few months sitting dirty with sweat on it. The trigger, sights, and magazine are all standard 870 and they work just fine. One thing I liked about buying the 4 round magazine tube was having the ability to take this thing bird hunting by swapping out the barrel. My father has a spare 26" barrel from his 870 that he bought decades ago. I simply pop off the 18" and put the 26" on and I'm ready to slay birds of the feather or clay variety! All-in-all, this is the best 12 gauge shotgun around. Accessories are plentiful, 12 gauge is easy to find, ammo types are numerous, and a pump shotgun will always be amazingly reliable if you do your part and not short-stroke it. This is the best no-frills home defense shotgun on the market. I trust it with my life and you should too.

Questions & Answers

William, I'm looking and looking and can't find a difference other than like the others said the weight difference. They both have a fixed cylinder bore, both have 4+1 capacity, both have a 3 inch chamber, both 38.5 inch overall length, both 14 inch length of pull, both black synthetic furniture, and both have a standard bead front sight. So If they're similar enough all 3 of us can't find any difference id buy the cheaper one and call it a day. Hope this helps.
