As an actor, the complex nature of getting historically accurate guns, holsters and equipment is very crucial. I love both the feel and the look of the 1851 navy. It is exactly what I would have carried had I been in this time period. When others see this weapon they are amazed at its weight and heft/feel. I could not have asked for a better pistol.

Do not buy. Goes to half cock but cylinder does not rotate properly. When go to full cock cylinder does not move and hammer will not stay back. I can then move cylinder to the correct place and the hammer will then go to full cock. I am not a gun smith but I will try to find some u tube to show me how to fix this. I would return it if I could but, I believe these are not returnable. This is not a critique of bud's. They are fine. They did nothing wrong. This is a critique of traditions 1851 navy.

Received the pistol in record time. It was well packaged and received in perfect condition. Just completed a complete cleaning and an waiting for a good day to shoot. This is a nice looking and well balanced pistol.

Great starter gun for black powder. Lives up to the description. Buds price beat everyone else by at least $50. I LIKE.

This is one sweet, heavy big ol' piece of hardware. Runs about $50 less thru Buds than most of what I could find online elsewhere. Traditions Brand box and paperwork, 'F.LLI PIETTA made in Itally' stamped on barrel. You almost can't not speak like a vigilante raised as southern gentleman when you raise it to fire. 'You-all kindly gotta ask yo'self a singular query: Does one feel particularly lucky?...well do you-all, punk-sir?" -and so on. Love this thing. Ordered Monday, received Wednesday. Not bad for right before Christmas.

Darn fine little shooting iron. Like it so much getting ready to get the .44 caliber version.

A:James, in most States this will ship directly to your house. In some strict gun law states like California require it to ship to an FFL. If you don't live in a strict gun law state though you're good and will ship directly to you. Hope this helps.See 2 more answers | -

A:The traditions owners manual says # 10 or #11 percussion caps and that either will work " With gun POINTED IN A SAFE DIRECTION, place a No. 10 or 11 percussion cap on the nipple of each unloaded chamber. It may be necessary to pinch the cap out of round to assure a snug fit on the nipple. Nipples and caps vary slightly in diameter."See 1 more answer |
