Springfield Armory SOCOM rifles are compact, powerful, close-quarter battle rifles. But being chambered for 7.62mm NATO. They still pack plenty of punch to reach out and make that crucial shot at a distance. They feature 16-inch barrels (the shortest allowed for a civilian-owned rifle) made possible by a re-tuned gas system. A proprietary, high-efficiency muzzle brake virtually eliminates muzzle rise, enabling you to stay on target for faster, more accurate follow-up shots. The new Cluster Rail System of the SOCOM II further enhances its versatility by accommodating virtually any optic, light or other accessory designed to fit a standard picatinny rail.

Bought this gun about a year and a half ago.
Reliable as any weapon could be, put decent ammo in get lethal results out.
Recoil managment is easy as could be with the very effective compensator, but muzzle flash can be a bit obnoxious.
I can hit people size targets all day at 100 yds and with about a 2 foot hold off hit the same tagets at 500yds. I have an EOTECH 512.
Have shot over 1000 rounds through it, mixture of OTM and lead tip. Although the instructions and some say NOT to use lead tip I have not have an issue. Just be sure to clean out the lead shavings every once in a while.
The gun is heavy, but managable for sure.
I love this gun.

This rifle is pure money. It is worth every penny and at Buds you seem to pay alot fewer pennies than at other places. A 2200 rifle for a little over 1700. Seems like a no brainer for me. Accuracy is great. The recoil is non existant. It has a great "feel" to it. Don't think about getting it. Just do it.

Great rifle, fun to shoot, because of all the added bulk on the front when fired standing this weapon has very little muzzle rise.

The box that it comes in is a absolute joke.(no fault of BGS, their boxing of the box was good) You buy a $500 rifle and you get a nice case, buy a $2k rifle and you get a shoe box from SA.

I'm not professional marksman or anything but I can fire a 3 inch groupings at 100 yards using the irons sights with garbage ammo such as wolf, german/british surplus.

Eye relief on my EOTECH HWS is great, and I replaced the stripper clip guide with a rail mount and will put a G23 on it soon.

I love this weapon.

Hello All,
This is a must buy. It has been the most fun 308 rifle I have shot. The recoil is hardly noticeable and mine was accurate right out of the box. Everyone that I have let shoot this rifle says they want one for their collection. Thanks Buds for your great selection, prices and excellent customer service!
