This is a great gun. I ordered it quite a while back but just got to take it to the range for the first time recently. It performed flawlessly. I put around 150 rounds through it and only had one failure to feed because of some crappy steel-cased stuff I was trying to use up. Other than that though, I was incredibly impressed.

The Canik Dolphin is a good pistol. It's well built, it shoots straight and so far it has cycled about 300 rounds of ammo with zero failures. It's based on the CZ-75b and that's good news as the CZ design will likely stand the test of 100 years time, much like the 1911.

However, when compared side-by-side with my superb, top-of-the-class CZ-75bd, the Canik Dolphin does fall a bit short. The finish grips and trigger are not as good as the CZ-75bd, but still pretty darned good considering the price difference. The dots on the sights are not painted all that well and the sight picture looks a bit squirrely as a result. Also on the downside is the really aggressive slide serrations. Jeez, if you grip hard enough, you just might cut yourself, bleed profusely and thrash about like a drunken sailor with angry hornets in his trousers. Perhaps this pistol was actually designed for gorillas and other leather-palmed simians?

One thing I like particularly well about the Canik Dolphin is the heft and balance. Recoil is nearly non-existent and once I change out the grips it should be very comfortable to shoot.

I'd summarize by calling the Canik Dolphin the dented-5-year-old-diesel-pickup-truck of the pistol world. It isn't great looking and a bit rough around the edges, but if you need a reliable workhorse that you can abuse a bit without suffering unpleasant consequences, then it's a fine choice.

First I would like to thank Buds for getting me the gun so fast. I ordered it on the 20th and it arrived on xmas eve!! Now that's fast considering it was a hectic time of the month. Now on to the's freakin awesome!!! I went to the range today and I shot over 200 rounds through it without one problem. Every shot hit the target and I had zero flyers. I was shooting so well a little crowd gathered around behind me and that has never happened before! If you want to look like a stud at the range, get this has zero recoil and the trigger is smooth and easy!! I have the perfect range/home defense gun and I couldn't be happier!!! This gun should cost over $500.00 easy and if it was made in America, it probably would cost that much.

Fast shipping from Buds. This is a nice gun. I had a CZ75B and this has everything I wish I could have changed on the CZ. The grips are way better and thicker, the styling is up to date and it comes in a really nice gun case that is thick and sturdy. It field strips exactly like the CZ so I don't have to learn anything new. The machining feels a lot tighter too. It comes with 2 MECGAR mags with plastic covers on the bottom to protect them when they drop. The only thing that bugged me is if you look at the CANIK website and look at the Dolphin it has the painted orange line up dots and polished barrel and trigger.
