Pistol cartridge lever-actions have had attention of the American public since the days of the Old West when having a rifle and pistol that shoot the same caliber just made sense.

There are numerous variations-rifles, carbines, standard loop, oversized loop-including Rossi's Model '92 hybrid-the Ranch Hand.

The Ranch Hand's 12-inch barrel complies with federal regulations, and features a gold-bead front sight with an adjustable buckhorn rear sight and an oversized loop lever.

You can't not love this gun. You can't not smile when you hold it. And it'll do the trick if necessary. This is my 'behind the bar gun' and is also carried in the truck or on the ATV when out on the acreage/hiking. The small size is perfect for tight areas and packs enough punch to take down any normal close-range threat. And yes...I bought it for all the great reasons anyone considers this piece.

The 357mag is side-loaded via a side port and it takes alittle practice and technique to get the rounds in smoothly. You'll figure it out. The action is smooth, sounds exactly like you'd expect from what you've heard on the movies. It's too nose-heavy to hold out as a pistol, to short to shoulder as a rifle, and awkward to hold up two-handed to use the large rear sight. You pretty much gotta shoot from the hip -and who doesn't want to anyway?

The report is exactly like the old western movies. It'll sling .38spl and .357mag all day, haven't tried anything but lead round nose. No issues.

Great gun.

Rossi makes a very fine product for the price. The Ranch Hand is a solid, quality firearm. I have not yet had the chance to shoot it, getting ammo has been a real challenge. Bud's price was the lowest I could find, in fact , the week after receiving my gun, the price went down. It only took 3 days for the gun to arrive at my FFL dealer once my payment cleared. Bud's order processing kept me completely informed until it went out the door. Bud's has great selection of guns and great prices. Will buy again....once the wife says it's ok !!

Good fun gun- no recoil with full 357magnum 158 grain. wood looks good (not fancy but nice). functions with no problems and blue finish is black with a blue tint. Accuracy was ok it shoots high even when adjusted to lowest setting but windage was straight on. This is a gun truck gun or one to use for tramping around the swamps. Buds was fast ordered on Sunday and received on Thursday.

This was my first order through Bud's and has been my best firearm purchasing experience yet. It was 3-workdays between the moment I hit 'purchase' and the moment I picked up the Ranch Hand from my local FFL dealer. The gun itself is amazing. I didn't grow up with westerns and am generally more partial to cyberpunk, but the lever-action is just too freaking cool and really fun to shoot. Another great feature is it's legally a pistol; I'm able to use it at any indoor pistol range and carry it under the same guidelines as the rest of my CCWs... though it's way to big for a person of my size to actually conceal carry .

I spent a few days deliberation between 38sp/357mag or 44mag. After taking this version to the range, I'm glad I picked the smaller caliber. It has no shortage of power with a hot 357 round and the recoil is exactly right for a pleasurable target shooting experience. The recoil with 38 special is almost nothing, and the cheaper ammo lets me plink for a while.

I read some reviews elsewhere that folks had trouble with 357mag rounds refusing to feed; I had no problems with any of variation of 38 special or 357 mag. Where the wood edges meet metal is a little rough, but the wood finish itself is nice.

The only issues I've noticed so far are:
1) Even with the rear sight in the lowest position possible, it shoots pretty high -- If I actually start to care about where my bullets go, I'll have someone take a look at that.
2) The safety toggle feels cheap and wobbly -- I never thought I'd say this about a safety... but this particular gun would be better without it. I usually just leave it set to fire.
3) The loading gate is a little fickle -- If you don't get a round in all the way with your finger, or the lever isn't all the way seated, it can be hard to cycle or top-off. This is somewhat expected.
4) Rossi's web site is ambiguous about their warranties -- I believe this is covered for 1-year, but it could be lifetime... it's just that ambiguous!

This is a very neat little gun. I don't know why I like it so much but I do. I don't shot cowby action and I have much better guns for self defense and for hunting but this gun is just fun to shoot. At present I am keeping this gun under the bed for a home defense weapon.

The fit and finish very good. The overall quality of workmanship is at least as good as any of my Marlins, Winchesters of Legacy Arms Pumas.

At $396.00 delivered, this is a super nice gun at a very low price.

Bud's offers the best prices and is always the easiest people to buy from. Their customer service is great.
