Nice handy rifle. Good value for the price. Being 7.62x54R and having a short barrel, it produces quite a fire ball in low light situations.

I got this for $119 several years ago. It was well warn and came with some cosmoline, but not as much as I expected. Once cleaned it shot OK. I'm not that accurate with it, it kicks like a mule, and it's heavy. It's a cool gun. I enjoy shooting it and getting the loud boom and the fire ball out of the muzzle. It's not fun to shoot more than 10 rounds out of, and ammo has become harder to find lately. I gave this 5 stars because I'm judging it as an military rifle. I've smoothed out the bolt as much as I can, and it works. I have trouble hitting things with it. I'm not sure if that's me or the gun. I do know I have a modern 308 that's a tack driver. The bullets are not the same, but they're close. There is a novelty to the Type 53, and it's one of my favorite guns I own. For $119 it was a good deal. I don't know that I would pay much more for one today. If someone is telling you to buy it for prepping, don't. You'll find modern options that are lighter, more reliable, easier to use and maintain, with more readily available and cheaper ammo. This is a fun gun and a cool piece of history. It's not what I would grab in an emergency and I wouldn't want to take it battle.

The rifle was just as described on the website and was a good value for a functional military surplus rifle. It wasn't in mint condition but it was complete and in very good condition.

It’s hard to believe the price you show in the picture. I would sell mine for half that. Mine has been fired and work with out a problem. No problems with Budsgun shop.

Poor stock condition so I put a new stock on it.mygunsmith said not to it except remotely.I have kept as an antique,As that is the worth of nothing now but maybe worth something in 50yeard

What a great purchase!!! These surplus “mini Mosins” are fun to shoot and look cool hanging on the wall. Buds was great to work with, as usual, and the rifle arrived in the expected condition. I opted for adding a butt pad after an afternoon of shooting, and now love carrying this thing hog hunting with friends. What a deal.

It's a Chinese made Mosin Nagant. Mine came in pretty fair condition for what I paid. Funny as it is I can shoot straighter with its iron sights than with my ARs and scopes. >.>

Great deal. Cleaning the grease off this long was like a trip back in time. Functioned perfectly.
