Awesome 1911! Wish I'd bought this 1911 a long time. Lives up to the Springfield name. I've had no issues at all.

I really have grown to respect this gun a great deal.
It is loaded with features that I really like: highly accurate, forged frame & slide, excellent grips, perfectly done front strap checkering, functional magwell, night sights and outstanding Armory Kote finish.
The gun has been flawless on feeding and runs great.
Exceptional 1911 for anyone wanting a super gun.

This gun has a nice look and features. I purchased it after reading all the reviews stating how tight the lock up is and frame to slide fit. Even Springfield\'s website stated the slide was hand fit to the frame. While the gun is tighter than most it does not feel hand fit and I can move the slide side to side on front or read two to three thousandths. I can also get a little movement on the barrel and bushing. The lockup is also like most of the other production 1911s out there. You can slowly ride the slide forward and not feel the barrel cam up into place. I paid a little less for my Dan Wesson Razorback and it is a better fit gun without the MIM parts in it. The gun does shoot good and I didn\'t experience any malfunctions after a couple hundred rounds. It will shoot even better with some trigger work but I have to decide if I want to stone the parts already in there or buy better ignition parts first. Overall this is a great gun but I feel it is more of a thousand dollar gun than a thirteen hundred dollar gun. If you look at all the guns in the lower price range you would think your getting a semi custom for this price. I am talking about Colt Gold Cups, Wiley Claps, and Dan Wessons, not rocks and other foreign jobs. That is the other positive about this gun. It has a tag on it stating it was made in America.

Received the Trp last week and put 150 flawless rounds through it. One thing about this gun is it is TIGHT so tight that it's even hard to rack the slide. Front strap checkering is sharp but makes for a awsome grip. The trigger is great very crisp with almost no take up. I heard the guns were built like tanks and I haven't seen anything to tell me other wise

Pros: Wow, just wow, received the gun yesterday, field stripped and cleaned it immediately. First impressions were: tight in all aspects, sweet trigger, really loved the way the gun felt in my hand. I was extremely pleased with this purchase! Took it to the range today, what a tack driver, definitely a better gun than I am a shooter, it will be fun upping my game with this gun. I can't get over the accuracy right out of the box, trigger is crisp, action is sweet and it ran without fail. Excellent value!
Kudos to the Buds team for a great gun that was in stock, and priced right. And even though the gun was priced fairly, it had a "make an offer" feature on this particular model, so I was able to save even a little more.
Cons: I sent secure payment overnight and it was received and acknowledged by Buds the day after I ordered the pistol. It took Buds another 8 days to ship the gun. From order date to my LGS took 2 weeks. I know BudsGunShop.com says 5-9 days after payment is cleared, but I was hoping that this might be a case of underpromise/overdeliver as is common w/ most retail organizations, but not in this case. Maybe this slow turnaround was due to New Years Eve/Day and or Buds was slammed busy w/ gun sales, not sure. Although I was chomping at the bit for the 2 weeks, the gun was worth the wait, it exceeded my expectations. Would I order from Buds again? Sure, just not around the holidays.

I placed an order with Buds for the TRP and within 4 days it as at my local FFL dealer. This was my first purchase of a firearm online and was a little leary about doing so. After this transaction with Buds I would not give the process another thought. Buying a gun from Buds was a breeze and extremely quick shipping. My next gun purchase will be with Buds. As for the TRP, I couldn't be happier. Right out of the box the gun is beautiful, functions with absolutely no problems and the fit and finish are outstanding. I would highly recommend this pistol to anyone interested in a 1911. It is much tighter fit than others I have shot and its accuracy is better than I am able to shoot. If you're thinking about buying this pistol, buy it, you won't be sorry and buy it from Buds!
