I've been wanting one of these for a couple of years. When it became available through TEAM BUDS for under $800, I jumped at it. The gun is beautiful and exceeded my expectations.. I had been planning on upgrading the wood grips but the factory ones look great and there's no need to change them. The trigger is excellent, very smooth with crisp action. This is an excellent piece and will make a fine addition to my collection.

The weapon has a faulty cylinder release mechanism, and I have to return it to Bud's.

Very beautiful Classic S&W .44 Magnum revolver. Gorgeous wood grips, this is nice enough to put in a display case. The trigger is excellent, very smooth with crisp action. This is an excellent investment & will be kept pristine.

Excellent gun and excellent service from Bud's. I saw this gun available on Bud's back in November 2012 for less than $800. I immediately laid it away. Paid it off in mid January and had it in my hands in less than a week after the final payment. The walnut grips are extremely impressive as is the gun itself. Very accurate and recoil is not bad at all. If you like revolvers and can get your hands an a model 29 for a reasonable price, don't hesitate, do it.

shoots fair. Great trigger and finish. no longer ships with presentation box, just the std S&W case. great balance. full power loads are a handful in this short barrel.

Though I have several 1911's and other pistols this is my first revolver. Fit and finish is great and it has the best single action trigger I have ever had. I bought this to go with a Marlin 1894 44 mag so that I could carry a handgun and rifle that use the same ammo.
The model 29 is a substantial gun compared to my 45's and fun as hell to shoot. With 250g hollow points it is acurrate and has more than enough punch. Here in the boonies of Texas wild hogs don't have a chance with this combination. Love the gun so much I already picked up a S&W model 36 38 special.

This revolver has an excellent trigger right out of the box and is capable of shooting tight groups easily at 50 feet. As usual the S & W fit and blued finish is second to none these days and so is Bud's service. For me, I prefer blue over stainless. I plan on using this one for a side arm when out fishing or hiking and enjoy the quicker handling and carry of the 4 inch model. Its balance is excellent as is its abaility to release rounds quickly. Second round acquisition is pretty fast for a gun of this type. So far, I have 500 rounds of 240 grain jacketed ammo put through it with no problems. To me, the 29-10 is and will always be one the favorite pieces in my personal collection.
