This was my first purchase from Bud’s. I had the rifle shipped to a preferred FFL from their web site. Bud’s shipped within the stated 3 – 7 wording days. Product arrived in excellent condition. I am very satisfied.
This is my second CZ 22lr rifle. My first is a CZ 452 Ultra Lux. The 452 accuracy is unbelievable and it exudes old world craftsmanship. My expectations were very high and the CZ 455 Thumbhole Varmint 22lr met those expectations.
The rifles are shipped to the US without a stock and mated to a US made Boyd’s thumbhole stock, then packaged in CZ materials and presented as though it all came from the CZ factory. Craftsmanship of the rifle, stock and final mating is excellent.
This rifle is hard to find. It is not shown on the CZ-USA web site or in their catalog. One surprise though. My rifle was outfitted with the forest camo version stock vs. the nutmeg (brown) version stock as shown on the Bud’s web site. I was very OK with that.
First impression of the 455 was not good. Initial groupings looked like a shotgun pattern. That got better over time (200+ rounds). Now at 50 yards, a high percentage of my shots go through the same hole with the right ammo. That can get very boring. Tried many, and still trying different ammo.
Owning CZ rifles is addicting. Both the 455 and my older 452 draw attention at the range and make me look better than I am.
Bud’s had a rifle I couldn’t find locally or anywhere else at a great price. I would highly recommend both.
