I generally don't write product reviews unless a product is very good or very bad. The Peltor Tactical Sport headset is not the best product on the market. While this headset is comfortable for long periods of time, the functionality leaves something to be desired.
On/Off function button and the volume control buttons would be better as a rotary volume/on-off switch. One knob instead of 3 buttons that are hard to find if you are walking. There does not seem to be a lot of attenuation for loud noises (pistol and rifle shots). Amplification of voices is very good.
The auto shut-off function works good, too good. after two hours of use the unit will beep three times prior to shutting down. This beep starts two hours after the unit is turned on whether it is in use or not. This is very annoying when you are shooting an IDPA or USPSA stage and the beeps start. I have to shut the unit off and then back on prior to shooting to keep the auto shut-off warning tones from sounding. Very annoying.
Currently trying to get help from Peltor. While everyone has been very courteous, I am been pass off to 3 people so far.
