This is a great mid sized revolver. Very well made and feels substantial in the hand. I take mine along when deer hunting and also makes a reliable home defense choice. You won't be disappointed. Handles both the _57 rounds and .38spl without a problem. Enjoy.

Great revolver for the money. More meat in the forcing cone area than S&W K Frames of the past, and I have not read or heard of these kinds of failures with Tauruses. Should be good to go for years of use.

All and all its a good gun for the price. I am alittle disappointed with two things though. First the grips are alittle thin for my liking. And second there is no rear sight. The seven shot 357 has a sight but the six shot does not.

The fit and finish on this gun is absolutely flawless! All edges are well defined, seams clean, and markings clear and crisp! The satin finish is even over the entire gun, with the hammer, trigger, cylinder release getting a brighter polished look - not mirror, just brighter. The trigger is wide and smooth for DA shooting, and DA pull is CLEAN - smooth, without a hitch, not a hint of "gritty feel..." The hammer has an abbreviated, wide, checkered spur for easy SA cocking. SA let off is just a hair less "instant" than a Smith, but clean and smooth...a hint of movement.
The cylinder latch operates perfectly...crane to frame fit is precise and makes use of a small wedge-shaped, spring-loaded detent mounted atop the crane to enhance forward lockup, with the rear following the S&W "pattern" albeit with a slight bit more extension of the center pin and stronger spring than was common "back in the day."
The bore is clear and smooth, with cylinder accurate cylinder alignment.
The only negative about this beautiful Taurus would be the rubber grips...a bit too "long" front-to-back they don't fit this hand comfortably. Considering the frame shape beneath the grips, this gun would be better served with a set of aftermarket or custom grips that fill in behind the trigger guard, but leave the back-strap open for a more rounded, wider contact to the palm. Certainly the OEM grips are good enough for duty use, just not ideal for my taste.
It's very tempting to polish this thing out to a mirror finish and mount a set of well-figured wood grips.
Smith and Wesson doesn't have anything over Taurus on this model.

After about 100 rounds thru this revolver, I love everything about it. The sight window though, was quite different from the Rugers I am used to. With a bit of careful filing and a base coat of white Testers enamel, followed by a coat of fluorescent orange, on the sight ramp, I now have a pistol that can put many in the 10 ring at 50 yards and the front sight is much more visible than the stock silver. The recoil is very manageable with magnum loads.

Absolutely flawless. I started at 15 feet the day it arrived, stretched out to 75 feet, went to 100 feet and still pegged the silhouette - two-hand standing and off-hand, single and double action. 50 rounds of .38 and 100 rounds of .357, both in 158-grain. Cylinder functions perfectly and as it warmed up, still dropped the brass free and easy without ever touching the extractor. Excellent balance, recoil is more than manageable. Impressive. I stopped shooting the first day because I ran out of ammo. I let my neighbor have a go and he ordered one the next day. (NOTE: HKS-10 is the perfect speed loader for this revolver.)

Very good first impressions with this gun. It is just as advertised and Bud's had a great price. It took 10 days to ship and 14 to arrive in my hands, which I think is excessive these days. I would have paid more for better service in this regard. No ding on Taurus though, I think this is going to be a great hiking carry piece!

Buds was and always is A+++. As for the gun, it too was awesome. It arrived in new/perfect condition. This is my first revolver so I can't compare it to others but it fires flawlessly and is easy to clean, what more could you want? It is fairly big in regards to length but I don't feel that it is excessively large and there is always the shorter barrel option. I would recommend this gun to others.

Wow what a gun. Great service from BUDS and great shipping times. First order from BUDS but will certainly be buying more from them. Gun arrived in perfect condition and took it to the range right away. I know some people clean it before its first use but I wanted to go play. Shot great and is dead on accurate. Own many revolvers but this might be my favorite now. Checked the first group of casings and the last group and all show perfect center punch on the primer. No play in the cylinder at all, it moves and locks perfectly. Trigger is awesome in single action though as in all revolvers the double action is kinda long. Crisp trigger pull and my 14 year old son loves it too. He got to shoot through a box of .357 mag rounds with it and fell in love too. Now I just wish they sold it in a shiny stainless steel. I know the redneck in me likes shiny things.
