Awesome gun. Love the accuracy. Easy to use. Fun for target shooting.

It's a fun 22 revolver. It's quite heavy but that helps mitigate any recoil, especially with 22lr. The grip is quite spongy and I might replace that but otherwise I'm happy with this plinker.

Had this on my wish list for a long time, always wanted a convertible .22LR/.22Mag target revolver, and was overjoyed when it finally came in! The finish is black matte, I was expecting the shiny finish, but the matte sort of grew on me. The inside of the box looked like somebody played kick-ball with it or something, the thin plastic gun older was shattered... luckily, the gun and removable cylinders showed no sign of any damage or dings. The weight of the gun feels solid, it definitely feels like one of it's Big Brothers, like the 692. To my surprise, it came with different grips than the ribbed ones that are shown. They came with the hard rubber finger grooved grips, which seem to fit my hand perfectly. Initially, the double action trigger pull felt like about 20lbs, and thumbing back the hammer felt extraordinarily stiff. Single action was very good at maybe 3lbs. I took the gun apart, fully cleaned out the factory oil, and and cleaned it up, spent about a day breaking in the trigger and the hammer using snap caps and now it feels like the double action is about 7lbs, single action trigger is still at around 3lbs, the hammer is MUCH smoother to pull back. All in all, I'm very happy with my purchase, Buds shipping to my FFL was great, no issues whatsoever, I can't wait to see what this revolver can do!

If you thinking about getting a 22 pistol revolver and you dont want to be dissapointed please check out S&W or Ruger. Top of muzzle was nicked and the 22 long rifle cylinder had surface rust and their was no oil paper to protect the finish of the firearm. This pistol is not well balanced. The 22mag casings need to be pulled out manually after being fired. The gun was dry and needed a substantial oiling before it functioned smooth. It did shoot decent groups in both 22lr and 22mag.

Very happy with this gun. Very well made, smooth double action, and accurate. Easy to convert cylinders. I plan on ordering a sight rail from Taurus, mount sight and be good for longer distance.

First of all I want to say that dealing with Bud's is nothing less the Fantastic!! If you have never bought a gun online at Bud's you are missing out on some GREAT SERVICE and an even GREATER DEAL! The difference in price even with the FFL cost is substantuately less through Bud's then with any firearms dealers that I have ever frequented. Now to the gun.. This gun is a blast to shoot! Out of the box the sights were right on the money! The trigger pull is fanastic in single action, very light and crisp. Double action is of course a much longer harder pull, but in all honesty I thought it wasn't all that bad. The best feature with this gun is having the ability to instantly swap out the 22lr cylinder for the 22mag! It takes just a few seconds and works flawlessly! Yes I would highly recommend this gun!! It is an awesome gun for plinking or for varmint control, especially with the 22mag! This is a great gun at a great price!! To all you Taurus bashers out there,, You are missing out!! Thanks Bud's!!

The grip on this revolver is real small when it comes to the amount of weight hanging out front with that full underlug barrel. The ribber grip is spongy and adds nothing to control. I cslled Taurus about it and they sent me free of charge a hard rubber grip. The problem is the hard grip is smaller than the ribber grip. To give you an idea as to how small it is, in my large hand I can grip my P3-AT Kel-Tec and have more control over it than I can with this Taurus 22. I do like the way cylinders change and the fact they hold 9 rounds. The gun itself is accurate when fired from a rest in single action. Double action it wants to shift because of the small grip..

Purchased this revolver mostly for having fun at the range with my wife. We put a 150 magnum rounds and probably 200 LR rounds through it this afternoon. The gun is accurate and smooth shooting. My wife preferred shooting it in single action cause of the stiff trigger pull, and it was a little on the heavy side for her. However, we both loved shooting it and look forward to many more afternoons at the range with it.

Got my 992 about two weeks ago. Just got to the range last night! I had read that there could be some extraction problems witht the 22 Mag, and there was. However, the person that I read the info from concerning the extraction problem recommended a thorough cylinder cleaning and lubrication and the problem goes away. I will go to the range tomorrow and report what I have found. Accuracy: Again, the blog was correct. Although both the mag and the 22LR were extremely accurate, the 22 LR's consistancy seemed more greater. However, I backed the target out to max indoor range distance and could still place 9 shots center mass 6 to 7 inch group with the 22 Mag. Overall, the weapon was everything that I hoped it would be. I am sure the cleaning that I gave it will fix the extraction problem. I will admit, there was a great amount of residue that came from both cylinders.
