Taurus 85B2FS 38 Spl +P. Bought 11 months ago & put about 100 rds of Federal American Eagle 158 gr lead round nose ammo through it with no problems & good accuracy. Nearly all were within a 6 in group at 25 yds, more than accurate enough for a concealed carry gun. Good primer strikes on all cylinders. This ammo is not +P but believe me it's not light. A lot of police carried that ammo for years. Although it won't expand much if any, it penetrates & it's easy to find for sale off the shelf. A snubby like this is hard to beat for general concealed carry, just shoot before carrying to ensure no problems, as with any gun. Very happy with Buds & gun.

Dealing with Buds is always fast and easy, received the gun in just a few days, for the low price it is a good little gun.The fit and finish are nice for a budget type gun. I found that the black rubber grip didn\'t realy feel right in my hand.I switched it out for old school walnut checkered grip with good results. overall this is a good shooting gun.For less than 250 dollars you cant go wrong

I purchased this revolver as my first handgun. It was exactly what I was looking for. As a woman with very small hands it fit my hands perfectly. Using 130grain ammo there was very little recoil. . Double action is a little difficult at first, it does have a very long and stiff trigger pull, but I'm sure it'll break in after awhile. It appears to be manufactured very well and you really can't beat it for the price. Love the Taurus grips it comes with.

I absolutely love this gun. Looks great, feels good in the hand, and super accurate. Especially in single action. I've put around 100 rounds through it and it has been perfect on every trigger pull. And shooting +P rounds is a treat. As for Bud's...can't be beat. Gun arrived at my FFL in two days. This will not be the last gun I buy through Bud's.

This is no S&W, but for the price its a decent little revolver. I put a box of ammo through it today and it functioned fine. The cylinder is a little stiff and fit and finish leaves a little to be desired. It will likely be sold or given as a gift, with that being said if you want a great deal on a decent gun this will do...Buds was great as usual.

I'm rating this as a $260 revolver. I really like this revolver a lot and consider it a huge bargain. A few notes...I received the "newer model" of this revolver. I really like the grips with the bull logo on it. The grips are comfortable and easy to hold. The finish isn't a blued finish, but a matte black. The finish looks good, but it kind of scratches easily. This isn't a big deal to me because of the price and considering it is now my every day carry gun. Regardless, I prefer blued finishes over this matte black finish. It's not that big of a deal though since to me this is a tool and not a collectible. I painted the front sight "blaze orange". Now aiming is a lot easier. The single action mode is great. I have no complaints about shooting it in single action mode. The double action mode's trigger pull is too heavy for my liking and caused me to move the revolver slightly off target. I replaced the factory 14 lbs trigger return spring with a spring from Wolff Gun Springs that weighs 6.5 lbs. The double action mode is now VERY smooth, and I don't move the gun slightly off target any more. The gun has been very reliable, and I never had any problems with it. Like I said, this is now my every day carry gun. I am very happy with this purchase and give it 4 out of 5 stars due to the heavy double action trigger pull.

I would recommend this revolver to anyone who wants an affordable revolver that works. I do suggest replacing the factory trigger return spring with a 6.5 lbs spring from Wolff Springs. This installation is very easy and I did it by following a youtube video. I'd definitely consider buying another Taurus revolver in the future.

I purchased this Taurus 85 because I enjoyed the one I already had for the past 5 years. I was a bit disappointed that the product I received was not even close to the quality of pistol that Taurus had previously made. I didn't mind the black matte finish.
Additionally...the cylinder chamber release is not smooth at all. The spring in the cylinder chamber is way too tight and almost always requires 2 hands to release and open the cylinder...and instead of a flat headed push plunger...Taurus replaced it with a round headed plunger which tends to cause the cylinder rod to hang up rather than a smooth release.
I was so disappointed with the cylinder release that I called Taurus and was going to ship it back for repairs...and the service rep was kind and polite and asked me to give it a little time to break in... After carefully examining and comparing this 85 to the one I already was apparent to me that this isn't even close to the same quality of gun... In other words there's no need to send it ain't''s just a poorly made weapon compared to the 85 they used to sell.

Picked one of these up whilst they had the cash price of $260- I was hoping to get another j-frame, but unfortunately money is very tight right now so I decided to give this one a try. While you hear all manner of things about Taurus guns online and word of mouth, I personally have not had any particular trouble with Taurus products, and this one is no different. It came in a plain Taurus box with the typical paperwork and lock keys. Inside the typical plastic bag was the revolver, only lightly oiled and just needing a quick wipe with a rag. While I have been spoiled by S&W revolvers over the years, I was still quite impressed with this little piece. The fit and finish are top notch, with no tooling marks or rough areas of any sort. Double action mode is fairly smooth, and single action is crisp, perhaps not quite on the same level as a S&W, but still quite good. Lockup is also surprisingly tight, though, again, not quite at the level of an S&W. Since this is a steel frame model, recoil was light when I took it the range. Put a box of FMJ through it with no problems of any sort. All in all, I am quite pleased with this piece, and while I initially had plans to sell this and upgrade to a S&W j frame, after handling and firing this piece, I see no reason to now. If you're thinking of getting a snub wheelgun, I would definitely pick one of these up while they are still at this price, because it is only bound to go up.
A couple things to note however- The picture that Bud's uses is out of date and not completely representative of what the pistol looks like. The one I received has the newer style grips that are a harder rubber and have a stylized bull/taurus logo on them. Secondly, while the information says that this is a blued piece, the finish is not your standard factory gloss blue. Instead, it appears to be some sort of phosphate based finish that is matte black. Just a couple things to keep in mind.
