The Savage® MSR 10 Hunter is a compact
sporting platform that still packs the punch of AR-10 chamberings. The
rifle squeezes even more performance from its upgraded Savage barrel
with 5R rifling, a 2-stage trigger, and a tough Melonite QPQ finish.
Other upgrades including a free-float fore-end, custom-forged lower

2 star rating is primarily related to feeding issues. I have put approximately 500 rounds from various manufacturers and nothing has worked consistently. I have used various bullet types/grains and even tried new magazines. I have adjusted the gas port on several range trips to no avail. The only reason I did not get give a 1 star rating was because when the rifle did shoot it was very accurate. Definitely would not recommend this firearm for anyone wanting to utilize the "semi auto" functionality. In addition, not sure who would manufacture an AR style rifle in 2023 for over $1,500 without any options for after market charging handles.

This rifle is awesome. Have been looking at AR10 style rifles for a while and was having a hard time finding one I liked in my price range. I already own a MSR15 recon and really like it, so I went ahead and ordered Savage's MSR10. The rifle is almost the same size as the MSR15 and is way more accurate than me. The only 2 issues are the charging handle can't be swapped with either standard AR15 or AR10 handle. Ordered an extension lever and problem solved. The rifle is also very stiff when new. After about 200 rounds it started to loosen up. I now have roughly 1200 rounds and have had 0 FTF or FTE. As always, the service from Bud's was GREAT !!!!

I rated this rifle 3 stars principally because of it’s charging handle. To date I’ve been unable to locate an aftermarket ambidextrous one and Savage customer support says they can’t supply or recommend one either. My local tactical supplier has had no luck with similar requests too. Someone using a red dot sight or a small diameter scope might find it less of an issue. The bolt release works but it’s a thumb buster to release. It may be easier with more rounds fired; I hope so. The factory trigger seems entirely adequate for hunting use and the finish is quite satisfactory. The Wylde chamber is appreciated.

Excellent rifle and price point. Quick shipping from Buds. Only complaint is that it was advertised as having a Blackhawk pistol grip and buttstock and instead came with a magpul pistol grip and buttstock. Will purchase from buds again.

This is my 1st AR style of riffle. I haven't shot since I was in my teenage years when my father and I always went hunting. I'm getting back into finally after a few years have gone by. I ended up purchasing a lot of steel casing ammunition to find out this gun doesn't like it. It normally chips the casing into many pieces so I stopped immediately and haven't used any steel casing anymore. Works perfectly with brass and haven't had any issues with it. I love this riffle and I think it is worth the buy when it's available

I got this rifle primarily for hog hunting. Ordered it prior to this COVID-19 issue. I have put a Holosun 2MOA Green Dot optic on it and dialed it in at the range. Very easy to do and the gun runs very well. I am impressed with the accuracy as well as the overall function. Can’t wait to get to the ranch!
