Yippee Ki-Yay M@!%#&$*"?#&... nuff said. If you, like me, have wanted an AUG since you were a kid, this is as close as you're going to get to a classic A1 without buying a used classic A1.

Makes me wanna don a long blond wig and do my best Karl Vreski imitation. (Die Hard reference) This thing is awesome. All the original spec features, sighted in and making a ragged hole in the target right outta the box. Super easy takedown for cleaning. 20 inch barrel with the original style muzzle device. My ONLY gripe is that I wish the "40th Anniversary" emblem was not so prominent. It is white and doesn't look very tacticool but it's not a pre ban gun so, no big deal. For the price, more magazines would have been nice, but again, nothing to do with the rifle itself. I love this thing and it immediately goes to the heirloom section of the safe because my son loves it also. Trigger is what it is for a service rifle. Cannot go wrong with this setup. Highly recommend.

Awesome weapon. The workmanship was what I would expect from Styer. Excellent grouping right out of the box. . After 160 rounds there were no failures of any kind. Well worth the expenditure for an experienced or casual shooter.

This firearm is designed to emulate the original AUG A1. Many of the original features are reproduced successfully, including the charging handle and the 'donut of death' optic. The firearm is very well constructed and solid, and a classic design. If you are looking for a 'classic' looking AUG, this is the deal. The gun is not very picky about ammunition and will fire just about anything I have tried so far. The firearm comes with the manual for the AUG A3, which has some differences that can be confusing. I would certainly recommend this gun and Bud's; the gun arrived in perfect condition within 3 days of shipping.

The rifle arrived in good shape but the omissions by Steyr, in such an expensive gun, are a big flaw. Only a single magazine is included although the shipping box has slots for more. No cleaning kit is included; and since the kit consist of a pull through, a couple of short rods/brushes, and an oil bottle with rag, the cost is minimal to say the least. No sling of any kind. Also missing is a proper manual for the rifle. They send one for the current model, the MK3, which is slightly different. Again, for the extra cost of this rifle I find this a serious and possibly dangerous flaw. This was sold as an anniversary edition but if I treated my wife this way on our anniversary I would hear about it for months. I expected to see a volume about the history of the rifle but nothing. It seems to reflect an attitude by Steyr of no care for the customer.

I have gotten bored with all the AR platform rifles. So I've picked up a few things outside of that arena, FAL, HK 93 clone, ones I wanted when I was a boy but didn't have anywhere near the money to get them. I decided on a AUG, but I wanted one close to the original. STG77 fit the bill. Yeah, its not 100%, for example I can remove the optic and put on a rail or other Steyr optic if I want. But it has the general feel and look of the original. And limited numbers. So I took it out to the range, no malfunctions from the couple of Steyr mags I rounded up nor the Pmags. I did need to sight it in which took just a few rounds. Scope knobs use a coin for adjustment. No fuss no muss. At first I was not sure how I would like the circle / dot sight. But after shooting a bit, I actually think it makes a good combat sight. Optics are very clear and crisp. I only had time to shoot at the 50 yard range but I chewed up the target right nice. I would bet its about a 2 moa gun. It might do better with more magnification. I may explore that later. I feel I got it at a good price, it showed up on time to my FFL as expected, this is my third purchase from Buds, and won't be my last.

It is not an exact copy of the AUG from the 80's. The scope mount is different, the butt stock, trigger, and other small parts are black instead of being all green. The scope was way off. One would imagine that the factory would test or zero it before shipping. Other than that is a fine rile and works well and has the classic look - but again, it is not perfect clone of the old aug.
