COLT WILEY CLAPP CCO .45 ACP - Blue/Black, 4.25" Barrel, 6+1 Rounds, Wood Grips

This is one of my favorite 1911's. For EDC it is perfect size and I have had zero malfunctions after break in with 7 types of duty and ball ammo. Fit and finish is flawless. The CCO is still a favorite in my book.

I’ve have many years experience with 1911 style pistols, most being the RIA 1911 pistols. This is my first Colt. First impression: everything feels gritty and stiff. Seems to be more clearance between the frame and slide than other 1911 pistols I’ve owned/own. The cross pin was almost impossible to get out of the frame for first take down, and still proves difficult installing and removing. I’m hoping the gun will break in. The finish is perfect, sights are great, and the trigger is wonderful. Frame serrations are uniform and enough without being too much. Handle is comfortable and practical, although within the first 100 rounds both handles came loose from the frame. Quick tightening of the screws and so far so good for now. And if you are used to handles with the magazine release button cut out you’ll have to get used to these, as they don’t. Very light weight. And manageable recoil. Overall I think it will be a reliable pistol, I’ve had no problems feeding or any reliability issues. I just expected higher quality from Colt for the price tag.

Sadly this gun did NOT perform to expectations. Within the 1st 100 rounds the gold dot fell out of the front sight. Also lost a grip screw during range practice, that fell out as well. Service from COLT was great. Was not happy with product for the cost. Traded in AFTER proper repair. BUDS as always was great to deal with.

My Wiley Clapp CCO took 8 days to arrive after I placed my order. Seemed a long time to ship 100 miles, but I think we are all spoiled by Amazon. When Wiley got here he looked good, but the aluminum frame has a matte finish that isn't as nice as the deep blue slide. I immediately put 250 rounds through it with perfect function, and accuracy better than I usually have. Trigger was good with just a little creep, but it should get better as the parts get acquainted. I really like this pistol. It feels just right and it has the one thing all 1911's must have-- a rampant horse on the side. It's heading into winter and this will be my daily carry with bulky clothes to hide it. I really like this pistol. Lots of people aren't comfortable with carrying a 1911 due to the cocked and locked/single action manual of arms, but if you are a fan of the 1911, this CCO configuration is perfect. The closest guns are the Sig C3 and the Dan Wesson, both very nice, but theyre not Colt. Did I say I really like this pistol? Before buying I checked prices everywhere, and Buds had the best deal.

Awesome gun. I have fired fired 375 rounds far with a mix fmj, jhp, and cheap steel case. 100% reliability. Make sure to tighten the grip screws before going to the range though.

My first Colt and I'm very pleased. The instructions were clear and I disassembled and cleaned before firing. Put 50 rounds with 5 different weight and type bullets and it fed all of them perfectly. My gun has a better grouping with heavier slower ammo. Recoil was no issue and the fit in my hand felt like it was part of me. I must say Wiley Clapp and Colt are a great combination.

Ordered my CCO Sunday, arrived at my FFL Wednesday, very pleased with the service from Buds. The WC CCO is now my carry gun, the light weight CCO carries well, functions 100% with hard ball and 230 gr XTPs. The fit and quality of this pistol make it a value for the price. Will definitely but another Colt from Buds.
