I am happy with my new firearm. It is just what I expected.

Like the concealment component of this Handgun. Very smooth slide but tends to stick at times when racking a round. Fires well with no jams and the laser is point on 30-40 yards

Unless you are dead set in getting black finish, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR and get the stainless version for cheaper. I always heard bad reviews of the Kimpro finish, well it's true and it sucks. This will by no means be a safe queen and has seen decent use for a week in the woods and this is worst finish I have ever seen. For positive purposes I will say it adds character. The sights rock and are dead on and shoot nice at 25yrd using small 12"x18" mini silhouette steel target. The grips as much as I wanted to hopefully like also are not worth the added cost. With little to moderate carry the switch will turn it on and become useless, so unless it is a tiny beside gun forget the grips. Finger also gets in the way of the laser half the time and I have already replaced them with G10 Stoner CNC grips which are excellent. It also isn't fond of gloves in my case. In any event it is a great and accurate shooter for what it is made for, pocketable, comfortable, well made. For giggles I tried some steel case, no go in this one. I would definitaly buy this again and over the Sig 938 as I shoot it better, I just wouldn't buy this model as the finish and grips are not up to par. If you do shoot a lot at the range or wherever it will pinch the bottom of finger. With or without gloves. To me it's no big deal but just pointing it out. Wouldn't trade it or sell it ever. Just not to pleased it will be getting sent out for new finish being so new and even though I love my new G10 grips I shouldn't have had to replace the Crimson Trace just yet unless I want to waste a bunch of batteries constantly. Maybe it's just the holster which currently is a Galco made for the Sig 238 , it's snug at first but breaks in quickly for a nice fit, however the grip does hang out causing the switch to be exposed or maybe the batteries were crap to begin with. They may find themselves out and back on as warrants, can't beat options. As for reliability I would say it had a few issues during breakin but now runs like a clock. It's sweet but unless you want to put more money into it go stainless with stock grips

I'd really like to give this gun 5 stars, but I'll spend this review explaining why I can't. Kimber is widely considered a top tier firearms manufacturer. They typically reflect that in their price tag. While I believe I got a good price on this gun, it is in the higher range of its competitors from other manufacturers that I won't mention. When I received this gun I put 7 rounds through it at the gun shop. I had a failure to eject on round three. With no time to troubleshoot or fire more rounds I had to leave frustrated. After some reading, people on Kimber forums advised me that I should clean and oil the gun and try again. I did. Subsequently I experienced 3 more failure to ejects over the next 24 rounds. Frustrated again, I did more reading and watched some more YouTube videos. I found out that the ejector was my issue. After pulling the firing pin and the ejector I was able to "tune" the ejector. Now convinced it would work, based upon the ejectors ability to hold a spent casing in place, I went out and shot 100 rounds as fast as I could reload without a single flaw. As far as reliability goes, take that for what it's worth. I think the gun will continue to perform well, but I expected better. My wife's pistol from another manufacturer that costs half as much continues to have 0 reliability issues. Now, in to the gun itself. The parts are machines to very tight tolerances, but after only 150 rounds it is already getting smoother. The takedown pin was initially difficult to remove but now is getting easier and easier to remove. The sights are nice and white and there are available night sights for about $100. The finish is done nicely. I am a large guy. 6'5" 250 with big hands. The gun is comfortable to hold and I could probably shoot all day. Other people with smaller hands will NOT like this as a range toy. It's meant to be concealed and used in case of emergency. It does a good job of that. If you want a range to buy a full size pistol. Not this. The laser grips are if very high quality and include free batteries for life from Crimson Trace (1 set per year) upon registration of your product. This is a new Kimber offering and there are already some aftermarket parts available from various manufacturers. Holsters are easily found from a variety of vendors. I've been Conceal carrying this pistol for nearly two weeks and can wear it all day in a quality holster with no problems. You can put it in a front pocket too. It's small enough to wear in a car and sitting down in my office all day. It is obvious who Kimber was going after with this pistol. I narrowed it down to Kimber and Sig P938. I ultimately went with Kimber because I thought the advantage in reliability, comfort, and size was better for what I wanted. The reliability wasn't there out of the box as I would expected; however, I would still buy it again knowing what I know now. Just did not exceed my expectations with the failure to eject. But those issues are behind this gun now.
