The CMMG MkG-45 GUARD is a new AR15 chambered in the iconic .45 ACP.
The GUARD is fed from factory Glock 21 magazines and uses CMMG’s patent
pending Radial Delayed Blowback operating system that tames the .45 ACP
cartridge while simultaneously reducing the weight and felt recoil of
the rifle. It also features a new patent pending dual-pinned, fully
machined bolt catch linkage, making operation of the rifle both easy and
intuitive. The GUARD is threaded to accept most common .45 ACP
suppressors and is the perfect carbine for defending your home or
enjoying a day at the range.

I went to the range with newly accquired carbine. After firing 300 rounds of factory and reloaded ammo. I came away with the following impressions. This gun is accurate at 50 yards,(the longest distance available at this range). It definently performs best with FMJ ammo. The Speer and Hornady large hollow points (AKA "flying ashtrays") were unreliable with mostly FTF issues. The most incredible thing about this new design (Delayed Blowback) is how clean it stayed. Over the years, I have acquired several blowback action carbines that are filthy after only 100 rounds. This CMMG carbine disassembles like any AR15 design and only needed cleaning the bolt and the barrel. All my other carbines need extensive care to the trigger housing, chamber area, bolt and recoil springs, to such an extent that the idea of after use maintenance has me leaving these rifles behind. I can see that this new CMMG will see a lot of range use.
