Jeremy, I have shot 300WSM from 18" through 26" Barrels and accuracy is not an issue only reduced velocity in the shorter barrels.

I really like this gun, it is a little longer then all of my other compact guns part of that being the fact it's a 300 WSM I'm sure but it is even a little longer than my model 7 300 WSM, but still plenty short enough. I am only 5 5 so I like these compact guns and they are harder to find in larger calibers. The gun has a very nice fit and finish though especially for the price and I do really like it. Have not shot it yet but look forward to shooting and hunting with it. Just a tip if you plan on purchasing one get the one piece base/rings for the Winchester XPR they are made by tally, but say Winchester on package. They work great. I ordered Leopold double dovetail XPR bases and rings at first and they would not fit correctly on the compact.
