I shot this gun for the first time on Sunday for the opening of dove season and not only was everything smooth but the recoil was minimal. The gun and camouflage is also perfect and I think it will be great during waterfowl season. The only issue I encountered was that when I opened the box to clean the gun it had rust that covered the entire inside of the barrel over about a 2 inch stretch on the backend of the barrel. After ours and hours of cleaning I think I got it to a point where it’s OK but that was really disappointing. I shouldn’t have to worry about rust in a brand new gun.

I've hunted the V3 in below zero weather and freezing rain with zero hiccups ! This shotgun is a solid workhorse. Also its lite on the recoil! It did come with 5 flush Rem chokes that was good . If your not a 3 1/2 person and the Versa Max isn't for you then you can not go wrong with this shotgun .

I purchased this gun last year and put it through its paces last waterfowl season on just about every weekend I could get on the water. This gun has performed well and cycles any 3 inch and 2 3/4 shell I have ever put in it. Unfortunately, I have also experienced powder/gas hitting me in my cheek when shooting it. I have only noticed this when I'm out shooting sporting clays and might be putting 75 rounds through it. Like others I have read online, this was resolved by applying two U shaped strips of electrical tape at the base of the forend and hasn't been much of an issue since. Recently I decided to ship the gun back to Remington as they offer a lifetime warranty and I'm optimistic that this issue can be fixed. Overall this is a great shotgun that I would recommend to anyone looking for a "do it all" shotgun.

I purchased one Remington 12 gauge V3 before duck season last year loved it so much it swings great and never skipped a round so I purchased another one identical to the first for the spring snow goose hunt they are very reliable and I own many Remington shotguns

I recently purchased both the 28" and 26" versions of the Remington V3. I originally bought the 26" V3 for my son to use for his first waterfowl hunt. I purchased the second one immediately following shooting the first V3. This gun is lightweight and soft shooting and fits reasonably well right out of the box. My son shot only two shots out of my Browning Citori O/U 12ga w/ported barrels after shooting a box or two from his V3, and he immediately handed me the Browning back stating he wanted the V3 because it kicks less. We were using the same ammo. What sold me on getting the second one was when I was shooting trap with it. I loaded up 4 rounds into the V3. Our clay thrower accidentally threw two targets at once then my friend launched another clay target, so that three were in the air. I was able to quickly move from Target to Target with ease and accuracy and blasted each one. A fourth single was thrown and that too was quickly acquired and smashed with ease. The one disappointing thing was that the description for this gun suggested that the fit was adjustable, so I was expecting an included shim kit, but that was not the case. The gun feels a little short for larger shooters, so I ordered a Morgan's adjustable recoil pad which suits my needs. I also added Carlson's Ported Sporting Clay chokes, which are the same ones I use in my Rem 870. The hulls do eject pretty far away, so warn your shooting buddies. We only have 100 to 200 rounds through each gun so far, but another range visit and our waterfowl trip is coming up soon. I'll be shooting some 3" Kents at 1560 fps bird hunting, so I'll have more to share later. Take the extra step and read online reviews about the Remington V3. This biggest take aways in those reviews are that it uses the Versa Max porting system, so it's soft shooting and there's no need to change gas ports when switching ammo. Plus, Remington apparently has made improvements on the Versa Max when they designed this gun to improve it's reliability when shooting heavier rounds in colder weather. To me that means you get a better gun in the V3 for near half the price of the Versa Max. Check it out. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

From the very first shot I’ve had issues with this gun. After firing the first shot it ejects fine and loads the second shell, but it isn’t bringing hammer back, the trigger is just soft also it pulls the third shell right below it’s not staying in the mag tube. I’m currently waiting for a trigger assembly from Remington in hopes it’s fixed. Couldn’t of happened at a worse time as there is 2 weeks left of waterfowl season. Also, when there aren’t shells in the magazine when moving the gun around you can hear the plug sliding around. Not a big deal just kind of annoying I’ve never had that before and this is my third shotgun. Comes off kind of cheap to me

Love this gun. Can’t go wrong the V3 and to top it off, it’s also made in the USA. Win-win! I'm really impressed with this gun. Of all the shotguns I’ve owned, it handles the best and has the lowest recoil of any. It’s been nothing but reliable and feeds shells as quickly as I can pull the trigger. Well done Remington!
