This did not cycle short shells, like Aguila Mini Shells or Federal Shorties. I don't think any other shotguns do either, unless you put an adaptor on a Mossberg pump.
The recoil was very comfortable compared to other pumps I have owned.
The slide release is not as easy to access as the Mossberg's, but it's ok. The slide action is very smooth.
The Mossberg tang safety is better but I don't use the safety very often.
Overall I am happy with this shotgun.
