What more can be said about the legendary Remington 700 other than the fact that it is a true American icon, like blue jeans and burgers. the Remington 700 is synonymous with American hunters and sport shooters. The 700 action pattern is the most cloned action in the world and now is your chance to own the original. This particular model is the 700 ADL Synthetic. It comes standard with a synthetic stock and what is called a blind box or internal box magazine. This mean that there is NO hinged floorplate or bottom metal to access the rounds. You must load and unload from the top only. This means there are less moving parts and the gun has a bit of a reduction in weight. The receiver is drilled and tapped to accept your favorite mounts, rings and optics. If it's Remington, it's Right.

I had long desired a Remington 700 ADL, so 45 years later I finally bought one. The lightweight plastic stock is OK, that is, if I was hunting in the rain or snow. Recently, I bought a new Walnut Remington 700 stock, which required finishing only; as the action & barrel fit perfectly. The rifle now appears as I perceive that a 700 ADL should look and feel, minus the skip line checkering associated with the older ADL series. Should I become energetic one day, I'll add some checkering to the normal areas of the stock.

Best price around on a 700 ADL, service was great. Local pickup was seamless. I used the ADL action with a Magpul Hunter I already had. Switched glass (which is pretty much useless) to a Vortex Viper I had in the safe. Have a nice Elk gun. Used the ADL stock on an old 25-06 getting me two nice guns.

As for the rifle itself, it’s a no frills bare bones ADL model. However, loads and shoot like a champion. The optics on the other hand....are straight junk. But I knew that going in. My glass had to be moved about 35 clicks to the right. They didn’t even bore sight at the factory. All in all, good shooter for the price.
