I have purchased firearms from Buds Gun Shop over the last few years and have always received good service and timely delivery. This purchase was no exception. The stainless Ruger Vaquero fast draw (.45 Colt) has an excellent factory high polish finish with unique grips and lowered hammer spur. I own other Ruger single actions and I found those features interesting. At the range, the revolver shot point of aim and the trigger pull was a little heavy but more than acceptable for a new gun. It did not disappoint and I am pleased to have the Ruger fast draw in my collection.

Pros:
Love the gun! I'm not a big fan of stainless finishes, but the gun is beautiful, and the grips that come with are not only very comfortable, but match the finish well. I'm very tempted to see if there is any way I can get a couple more sets. Very comfortable to shoot, especially cowboy loads. No trigger creep when cocked and ready to fire, just a clean break. I do not have a a gauge to tell you the weight, but I'd guess it around 5 lbs. Cleaning is a breeze, I may become a stainless convert because of that alone! I truly enjoy shooting it, and I've got two family members, and several coworkers wanting their own now.
Cons:
With this gun supposedly being designed for fast draw, or some form of SAA competition shooting, I would have expected a little more detail to have been paid to the action, and trigger. The one issue I can consistently find on Ruger is some of their internals might be a little rough, or have a minor burr here and there that makes things a bit stiffer than you might expect. If you know how, I guess you could just strip it, and do some polishing and deburring while watching tv, or just play with it, working the action and shooting. Let the parts do it themselves, I went with the latter option. I am having to send it back to Ruger for sight adjustment though, as mine was shooting eight full inches right consistently with two different types of factory ammo. As usual, Ruger was very helpful here, and sent me the pre-paid shipping label to get it there, so the biggest whine about it is I gotta find something else to play with for a week or two.
Overall, I'd give it a 4.5 out of 5. Anyone familiar with revolvers can easily smooth things out, and even change the springs if they desire lighter cocking, and trigger weights. I've opted to only polish two items (Cylinder rod, and Hammer strut), then play with the action to let it smooth itself out. Just playing with it a bit, and one quick shooting session, have already smoothed out the action quite a lot, and I don't think I made it through more than fifty rounds. one to two more trips should have it nice and smooth!

This revolver is a result of a collaboration between the Cowboy Fast Draw Association, Ruger and Talo. I purchased it for CFDA competition and I am more than pleased! I had my gunsmith go through it but there was not much to be done to improve the revolver. A pleasure to shoot, solidly built and balanced, I’m looking forward to many years of service. Bud’s offered the revolver at a great price and was great to do business with. I will definitely purchase from them again.

First I would like to say I have ordered several guns from Buds and it has always been a pleasant experience. The guns have arrived at my FFL dealer very quickly. This particular gun has been more than I expected. The looks and feel are great and I wanted the larger caliber in the old west style gun. I have only been able to admire the looks and feel, but taking it to the range this week shooting some cowboy loads through it. I can tell you that I don't think anything at the range is going to change my mind on this gun.
