This Metro Arms 1911 in 9mm for the price point, is an amazing well crafted firearm. I've shot hundreds of rounds through this pistol without any issues, using several different types of 9mm bullet weights, from 115 gr to 147 grain flat-nose. Buds like always was fast shipping and great customer service. I'd highly recommend this 1911.

First off, Bud's was amazing as always, great customer service, great price, no issues there. However, I highly suggest you do NOT buy this firearm.
From the first shots at the range, it jammed at least 30-40% of the time with brass and 90-100% of the time with steel. I then shot only brass through it for the next 400 rounds to "break it in". during this 400 rounds, it jammed at LEAST 2-3 times per magazine of 7 rounds. I was unable to get through a single magazine without at least a jam in there, even AFTER the break-in period of 500 rounds.
I lubed this firearm, took it apart, changed out the spring (i thought the spring weight was too heavy), I tried different brands of ammo at different weights, and this firearm gave me nothing but problems until I finally sent it in for repair. Speaking of that, the process of sending it in for repair was easy, but there was no communication throughout the process and the firearm was just shipped back to me without any kind of note or information as to what was done with it. I finally found out that the gunsmith had polished the barrel ramp. I then took it out to the range, and the jamming had reduced from 30% to 10% (meaning it would STILL jam at least once per magazine of 10 rounds). At that point, I managed to sell this firearm for little to no money at all.
Therefore, I highly suggest you spend the same $500 on a Rock Island or something, as I've later bought a RIA 9mm that has not jammed on me once... even coming straight out of the box. Brass or steel, didn't matter, no jams. I do not normally post negative reviews, but this firearm had cost me so much hassle and loss of money that the only thing I wanted to do was prevent someone else from making the same mistake.

If you’re looking for a reliable and accurate 1911 in 9mm caliber with a limited budget? This is the one you’re looking for. Ordered mine two weeks ago, fast shipping and the best customer service again, thanks BUDS. The look, the finish and most importantly the performance of this 1911 is awesome, shots 400 rounds with no single jam!! One more good thing about this is... no wiggle at all, the fittings are perfect! It’s worth the $.

Love it! Shooting offhand I get consistent 2.5 inch 8 shot groups at 10 yards. Fit and finish is very good. Its trigger pull is slightly heavy but it has no over-travel. For a value-priced 1911, I think that this is a great choice! PS - The pistol pictured on Bud’s shows “American Classic II” engraved boldly on the side of the slide (which, I think, looks a little silly). Mine came with “American Classic II” attractively engraved on its side in a much, much smaller font. I was very pleased that Metro Arms made this aesthetic change!
