Bore-sighted it, sighted it in, set it in a rack at my back door in case coyotes are in my backyard have only shot at 6 and hit them all at yardages of 25 to 100. Shoots straight. Very light, but doesn't kick hardly at all b/c it's 223. I filled the stock with high density foam to give it a more solid feel. Good gun for the money.

This thing is a tack driver! So fun to shoot and hardly no kick at all. Perfect for anyone looking for a reliable rifle!

I enjoy shooting this rifle and have not had any problems with it so far. I really could not pass it up considering the price, which also includes a decent scope if you are not shooting long distances. My shooting is normally limited to 100 yards. The trigger is adjustable, which is a nice feature also.

Very nice rifle for the money. The finish is a bit rough and the stock is cheap compared to a rifle that is more expensive. However, the rifle is accurate and functions fine. The accutrigger is very nice. I changed the scope as soon as I received the rifle. Overall, I’m pleased.

I ordered the Savage Axis II .223 and received it as quick as ever, Bud's is awesome!! The gun on the other hand had an issue. It would chamber and fire fine, but the fired cartridge was nearly impossible to remove from the chamber. I had to use extreme force to open the bolt and get it to eject. The fired brass cases were deeply scored and gouged. Tried several brands with the same outcome. I called Savage and they sent me a shipping label and I returned the gun back to them. Two weeks later I received practically a new gun, with a new bolt and barrel. This gun shoots and ejects the spent rounds perfectly. The first gun must have made on a Friday afternoon and missed Quality Control. I am at least glad that they fixed the problem.

I used Buds' "Make an Offer" method for purchasing this rifle. I bid $5 less than the offered price of $350. While $5 is not a lot off the price, I felt like I was in control of my purchase. Shipment was quick, ordered it on Saturday evening, had it in my hands on Wednesday. I took it to my range to test fire it. I used 20 rounds of Remington ammo first. The rifle was supposedly bore sighted at the factory with the Barska scope mounted. My first 5 rounds were right and low. I did not have a rifle rest to align the scope. Will do that next time. When I switched to Tulammo and on the third shot, I had a problem with the bolt refusing to open. Got the range gunsmith to help free it. Upon examination of the fired case, he suggested I not use Tulammo. The steel case seemed to have a little bulge in it. Will not use that stuff again. The Axis II is a nice rifle. It is balanced well and not too heavy. The Savage manual print is to small for these old eyes, so downloaded a copy of the manual from the Savage website. This was my fourth purchase from Buds. Will do it again.

I purchased this rifle from Buds about 6 weeks ago and have found it to be very accurate (1" MOA groupings) right out of the box. The included scope needs to be adjusted but it was immediately on paper at 50 yards. Sighted it in at 50 & 100 yards in a series of 3-shot groupings using less than a box of 20 rounds. I have since been able to consistently hit "life-sized" silhouette targets (like elk and buffalo) out to 550 yards. I am very impressed and very pleased with this inexpensive, accurate rifle and will be purchasing another Savage rifle (Mark II FVT) as soon as ammo is again widely available for it.
