So far so good with my purchase and how smooth it went, I’m hitting the tang
this weekend to see how it shoots and go from there

First, this is a beautiful gun. The stainless/black combo is really an eye-catcher. The checkering on the backstrap feels just right - aggressive but not uncomfortably so.
The Novak night sights are great for these old eyes, and the ambidextrous safety is made to order for this southpaw. In fact, if I had ordered it from the custom shop, all of its standard features are what I would have ordered.
On the range, it shot better than I can (not unusual). First time out, I fed about 200 rounds through it of 230 grain FMJ Winchester White Box, Remington, Blazer, and Speer, as well as some Winchester PDX1 JHP. Nary a hiccup.
Do I love this gun? Oh, yeah. It's a little more than I would have liked to have spent, but with this one you definitely get what you pay for, and then some.
One caveat -- get yourself a barrel bushing wrench if you don't want to spend all afternoon chasing the recoil spring plug around the room when it flies off during reassembly. Those dual recoil springs are strong!

I own all three models in the new Combat Elite lineup. They are all well constructed, nice fit and finish and function well out of the box. Once you run a few rounds through them they get even better. It appears that the black ion bond coating on the feed ramp can cause some early issues with some hollowpoints but as it wears off from use you will find that they will feed just about everything. Overall, I am completely happy with each and every model.

Always wanted a Colt .45. This one was just different enough in it's style and appearance that I could not pass it up.This pistol is very nicely done. Heavy, all stainless slide and frame with a unique finish. They blackened the frame and slide and then re polished it. I put some mag polish on it and really shined it up. Right now it is a safe gun, not sure if I will ever fire it.Have plenty of others to shoot anyway. Bud's was great as usual!

I am very happy with my purchase and how fast I received it. I have not been able to shoot it yet do to work. It will be in the low 30s this Sunday and I will definitely be shooting my new colt combat elite commander then. But so far very happy. And I'm still shocked that I ordered it on Wednesday and got it Friday with thanksgiving in between. 5 stars for buds gun shop. My new go to for firearms
