With the ECP, Dan Wesson delivers the best bull barrel 1911 on the market. Bringing the heavy match-grade barrel, the Enhanced Compact Pistol, with a 4-inch barrel, is ideal for concealed carry.
The bull barrel itself is flush-cut to make for easier disassembly and has a 30 degree crown. With a flat wire recoil spring that is rated for 15,000 rounds –three times the round count of a typical 1911 dual recoil spring setup.
With a compact, stainless steel slide and a forged aluminum frame, the weight is kept to a svelte 29 oz. Our new tapered G10 grips and a bobbed mainspring housing enhance its ergonomics, affording shooters with smaller hands an easier reach to the trigger. A tri-topped slide wears aggressive side serrations and a top rib to knock down glare, while our new U-notch rear sight is matched to our brass-beaded front sight.

My Dan Wesson ones are the smoothest, by far. They are very accurate, very comfortable in the hand, and there’s nothing bad I can say about them. This particular one has the advantage of a slightly shorter barrel and is lighter than most, which make it a perfect EDC gun. The added capacity of 9 1 of this 9mm is the cherry on top. You really can’t go wrong with Dan Wesson, and this ECP is a delight. I have only put less then 100 rounds through it, thus far, but I can already tell it is smooth and extremely accurate.
