The standard heavy-barreled version of the 457, the Varmint has a .866" cylindrical barrel. Not only does the heavy barrel make for good harmonics, it also allows the Varmint to perform well with a wide variety of rimfire loads, translating into an accurate platform for shooting targets or getting game. The Turkish walnut stock has an American-style comb for use with a scope and a wide, flat forend that rides a sandbag well. Laser-cut stippling gives grip fore and aft. In addition to the receiver-mounted, push-to-fire safety, we chopped almost an inch of length from the action and slab-sided it to reduce its footprint and weight. With the exact same swappable barrel system as the 455 and the same reliable polymer magazine system.

Purchased CZ 17 HMR to get a no nonsense rifle that's a blast to shoot. If not familiar with 17's , try one to enjoy up to 200 yard shots, with a super accurate rifle, right out of the box - no trigger replacements needed (like Ruger ). With the Hornady 20 gr. bullet, starlings are obliterated and crows are quickly dispatched. Highly recommend this 5-star fun rifle at Bud's. Bubs

First off, surprised to find this item in stock (got via "notify me") in March 2021, when guns and ammo are difficult to find. Shipping was straightforward and fast. My CZ 457 Varmint 17 hmr is beautiful. Fit and finish are superb. I love it that CZ includes a target fired at the factory with their rifles. Since it's not broken in yet and I've had difficulty finding different types of ammo to try with it, I still don;t know just how well it is going to shoot. But I am so impressed with it that I ordered the 457 Varmint 22 barrel as well. Switching barrels is incredibly simple.
