Ruger's Mark IV features a simple, one-button takedown for quick and easy field-stripping and proper chamber to muzzle cleaning. The recessed button in the back of the frame allows the upper receiver to tilt up and off of the grip frame without the use of tools. Its internal cylindrical bolt construction ensures permanent sight to barrel alignment, while the contoured ejection port and easy-to-grasp bolt ears allow for durable and reliable operation. The accurate sighting system features a drilled and tapped receiver for Weaver- or Picatinny-style rail. The Mark IV is a single action and utilizes an ambidextrous manual safety, push-button magazine release located on the left side, and an ergonomic bolt stop. Included is a washer and two magazines. This 22/45 Lite model features an aerospace-grade aluminum, ventilated receiver with a black anodized finish. It also has a threaded 4.4" barrel, black polymer grip frame, checkered 1911-style grip, and a fixed front sight with an adjustable rear.

I have roughly 2000 rounds in this pistol now. The rear sight was way off out of the box, but no big deal as it has an adjustable sight. I painted the front sight red and the rear white with some paint markers. That helped a lot with sighting as the stock sights front and rear are straight black. It was a little picky on ammo at first, but it was much better after about 500 rounds. And yes, I always lubricate my firearms, so it wasn't having issues from running on dry rails. It's accurate enough, but I can't help but compare it to my much cheaper and better performing TX22. The TX22 is less than half the price, shoots tighter groups, will eat any ammo you put in it, holds 6 more rounds, and has less malfunctions than any .22 semi I've ever shot. It's weird, I can kind of just hope the rounds are gonna hit the bullseye and they just do with the TX22. As a result, I don't have much reason to take the MK.IV to the range over my TX22, so it ends up sitting in my safe more often than not. I am looking at picking up a 2x scout optic for it so that I have a reason to use it. I might as well utilize that top rail, right? The one advantage this fire arm has over the TX22 is that the field strip process is incredibly easy. The TX22 is a little finnicky to put back together. So, there's not really anything seriously wrong with it, but there are better bang for your buck options out there. Even if you want this because it's capable of mounting optics, the TX22 Competition model is still more than $100 cheaper. The only reason I think someone should pick this over any TX22 model is because they love the 1911 style grip and or they really want that picatinny rail. Or maybe they just really love the unique look of the firearm.

This is a great pistol, it is my go-to for hiking and backpacking. It is concealable and is not fussy about inexpensive bulk ammo. Highly recommend it to be added to anyones collection.

Best 22LR semi-auto pistol I've ever owned. Sited in well right out of the box. I've cycled 1000+ rounds through it without an issue. Also very easy to break down for cleaning.
