Very smooth action easy to clean. had a different style frame 35 yrs ago great gun then great gun now.

Another quality product from Iver Johnson. Fit and finish are very good at this price point. Ran over 100 rounds without issue. Accuracy is very good, would put it up against more expensive brands. These 1911's are hard to beat for the price. Would highly recommend!

This pistol is unworthy of being called a 1911. It will feed a round into the chamber, but the rim of the cartridge will somehow get in front of the extractor, which is so tight that it cannot snap over the cartridge rim. Trying different ammo and magazines didn't help. I'm not sure if I should spend even more effort and money to make it work or if I should throw it into the nearest river. Buy a 1911 pistol you can be proud of, not a cheap knockoff.

One of my fellow military bolt action competitors used one of these to win a CMP pistol match a year or two ago. That seemed like a pretty good recommendation to me!

I'll start out by saying this 1911A1 is really fun to shoot. I was skeptical to buy it at first because of the fixed sights, but they are dead on. I shot out the bulls eye at 13 and 15yds. 18 and 20 yds had tight grouping and I'm blaming my old eyes for not hitting center at that distance. The pistol is well made and feels good in the hand. My first day out with it I put 100 rounds of 230 grain through the barrel and had no FTF's or FTE's.
