I purchased this rifle last spring. After the initial break-in (I used 50 rounds) I loaded up 270 grain Barnes XFB using 73 grains of RL15 (2800fps) and got .3 inch groups at 100 yards. This is a real fun gun to shoot. The recoil pad is all that is needed. I expected to need my Past Recoil pad but there was no need! I never expected to get this degree of accuracy in this caliber!

I own another 375H&H that is almost a pound heavier than this one and the felt recoil is substantially more than on this rifle. The recoil is not quite in the 30/06 range but almost. With the stock, recoil pad, and finish on this gun it is what it was made to be a great working rifle. Will I ever get to take it to Africa and use it where it should be used? Not unless I win the lottery. But it is a nice gun,fun to shoot and if you reload you can really have fun experimenting with light loads for it and the price can't be beat. If you don't believe me just price other 375's

This is a thing of true beauty. The gun comes with the exact same stock as the Model 700 xtreme conditions rifles come with(got the info from Remington themselves), a $200 price tag at Remington.com, so this makes it even a little better. The recoil is mild really not much more than my Weatherby .Sporter 30-06 and to be truthful I thought it would break my shoulder because it only weights approx. 7 lbs but the R3 recoil pad it made it a breeze to shoot. I initally planned to just put this one in the safe as a keep sake due to the 1 of 500 (which I still kind of doubt is true because I have seen so many for sale on the net), but now I plan to shoot it a bit more. Well worth the money for any shooter who can stand the $40+ a box for ammo or likes to reload.

    Hi,
I going to be honest with you, I'll try my best to avoid Remington as they have a really bad track record over the past decade. The review on this Rem 700 looks fine but they are all over 10 years old. I would stick with Weatherby as it is a production gun (thus continuing support) with a very recent review. Functionally they are capable of the same thing and price is identical. This Rem might be somewhat collectible in the future as it is limited edition....but probably not (this is more likely the case. Get the Weatherby Vanguard....don't risk Rem. I hope this helps.
