This is a fantastic shotgun. Very soft shooting, especially for a 12 gauge. It does everything you want a semi auto shotgun to do. I had a couple of shells fail to feed but after shooting about 20 rounds thru it never a hiccup since. Mossberg simply makes great affordable shotguns and the 930 is another fine example. I now own their Ultimag pump and the 930 autoloader.

Ordered on Wednesday evening, hit my FFL on Saturday! The usual great service from Bud's and shipping was free!. Had a budget of less than $500 and this was the only U.S. made semi-auto in that price range, and the reviews were good. The finish on receiver and barrel is matte black. Field stripped the gun and it was reasonably clean but very wet. Mopped up the excess lube and shot 125 rounds of Estate 2 3/4 dram 1 oz. #8. I was a little worried perhaps the light loads would not cycle, but it never hiccuped and recoil was very mild. Great gun if you value function over form. Has the usual 930 issues of forearm loose at the rear and trigger group a little loose in receiver. Neither of these hurts performance of the gun.

Great price and buds delivered quickly to my FFL. Shotgun came in without any scratches, dents or dings. It cycles fine with the "wooden peg" still in the tube mag, which limits the magazine to 3 1 with 2 3/4'' shells. Removing the wooden peg and attempting to load 4 rounds in the tube leads to FTF problems unless you cut the original spring down a coil or two. This gun is very sensitive to changes with the tube magazine spring pressure, too much and it wont feed because the shell stop wont move, too little and it wont feed a round fast enough. This will cycle just fine if you leave it factory, but if you want more rounds i would suggest holding off on removing the magazine stop and just waiting until you can install a magazine extension. The mossberg 930 also has a particular loading procedure that must be done, or else it will not feed a round correctly. you must first load a round in the chamber, drop the bolt release and then load the tube magazine. Failure to load the first round in the chamber will load into the chamber, but will also eject the round behind it on the ground underneath the loading gate, or just not feed a round at all. First thing i would do if i buy this gun, polish the shell stop (search google for "brownells 930 shell stop mod"), install atleast 2 magazine extension and cut spring until it feeds correctly (also leave it fully loaded for a couple of days to help relax the spring), and clean/lube very well, it hates running dry but will run dirty. Overall, its a great semi-auto shotgun for the price, It has some oddities to the shell stop and the way it must be loaded, but its a great budget semi-auto.

Bought this after hearing rumors that Remington isn't what they once were any more and had bought a Mossberg 308 the previous year and felt it would be a good gamble. Not the case! First off the shot gun would only allow me to load 2 rounds in the tube instead of 4 and I could hear a piece sliding around inside when i inverted it back and forth, so after disassembling my new shot gun I discovered that there was a wooded dowel probably used during the assembly process for aligning something was in the tube jamming the 3rd and 4th round from making entry into the feeding tube. Next it jams 4 out of 5 times when loading or unloading live rounds into the gun. In trying to learn how to disassemble the gun on YouTube I discovered all you want to read about feed problems and jamming. I don't want to recommend another brand to buy but I do want to warn others to stay away from this Brand of Shotguns.

Bought one of these shotguns last week, took it to the range today and I am very happy to say that it cycled all 1oz loads without any problems. Put 150rds and the gun worked flawlessly out of the box. Gun swings well, not the lightest gun for sure, but recoil is no problem on this gun due to the fact it is gas operated and weights apron 7.5. Only reason I don't give it a 5 out of 5 is because the fit and finish is not the best, hand guard has a little bit of movement and looseness to it, (which can be annoying if small things like that can bother you) but for me i had no trouble shooting, it was just something I noticed while holding it. ***It is by no means a serious problem but just something worth mentioning, "could just be my gun for all I know"***But overall it is a great gun considering I only paid $367 for it and I plan on using it as a workhorse for the upcoming waterfowl season and is definitely gonna see alot of use on the field. Would definitely recommend it to anyone on a budget. Personally I've always believed a cheaper shotgun serves as a better tool on the field because if you spend a lot on a shotgun chances are your gonna baby it and not want to get it dirty. This gun is a true performer and for the money is the best American made semi auto you can find out there.

What a great deal! I bought this for a total of $390.65, including FFL costs and a dollar to the NRA. Fit and finish is good, and It looks pretty nice for a synthetic stock gun. Took it to the range and love how it shoots. Recoil is light and comfortable shooting moderately heavy loads. I like it.

The fit and finish is very high quality. The bolt operates smoothly, and locked back on the lightest loads I could find. This size has great balance, it fits really well, and it doesn't bruise my cheek after 50 shots in a row with it. The recoil pad is very soft, the fiber optic front sight is easy to pick up, and it comes with three chokes. This is by far the best deal on a quality semi-auto, especially from an American brand. Don't hesitate to pick this one up. I wouldn't change anything on it.

Nice shooter, has cycled everything from skeet loads to 3 inch buckshot. Patterns right on point, too. Mossberg got it right with this one. It's a keeper.

It is decent with Brenneke Slugs Van. It will be most accurate with the "IC" Improved Cylinder Choke. It's good for pie plate accuracy with slugs out to 100yrds and about 4 inches at 50yrds. I eventually went with a dedicated "Slug barrel" and groups tightened up quite a bit.
