Was looking for a weapon with minimal recoil. I found that the slide rail was a bit stiff for this senior. Overall, it is a fine weapon.

I needed a new carry weapon and have fired the Spectrum earlier, so I ordered one from Bud's. They shipped it very quickly. was very pleased with the entire order, along with their pricing.

I have fired 50 JRN with no problem , Also 16 JHP still no problem. The firearm was very hard to pull back to inject rounds when i first received it. After first twenty rounds it became much easier . The directions say leave the clips loaded for 72 hours before shooting, appairently this is to weaken the clip springs so gun will load properly when slide is pulled back.I suggest that you follow the directions. I would buy again and am very satisfied with this pistol.

First, I'd like to applaud Bud's for recently lowering an already excellent price on this gun. In time with the Taurus factory rebate, it is an exceptional price. The Spectrum fits my larger hand very well; the ergonomics of this firearm, especially considering its diminutive size, is extraordinary. Maybe not as much with flush-fit magazine, but the extra round iteration is wonderful. I've thoroughly tested most, if not all, of the pocket pistols; Remington RM380, S&W Bodyguard, Ruger LCP and the Taurus PT738 TCP. The Taurus TCP outshot them all. The Spectrum feels better than the TCP and I'm hoping to wring it out and have a similar result. The fit and finish is good, not great, but functionality, after an initial and complete cleaning, is outstanding. The ease of disassembly is a bonus. No separate pieces, once taken down and when put back together, the take down screw goes automatically back in place. Thanks to Taurus for a really nice little pocket pistol and mega-kudos to Bud's for pricing this little gem so well!

Recently purchased this from Bud's at a super price, even after reading a few reviews by people who had some problems with "light strikes." I really liked the looks of the gun and it's something that is easy to conceal carry. I like the smooth design with few edges to catch on anything in a pocket holster. I took it to the farm to see if I experienced problems like others reported. I shot 100 rounds...mostly American Eagle FMJ 95 gr and some Gold-Dot 90 gr HP. Everything fed and fired without a problem. Even though the sights are very small it was surprisingly accurate. I couldn't be more pleased! Maybe other ammo would cause problems, or maybe something will come up after more shooting, but I think Taurus hit a homerun with this one!

Recently purchased the Taurus Spectrum 380. Pros= Good looks, great feel and compact size. The finish is nice and like the rubber panels and grips. Cons= This pistol failed to fire at least 2 times per clip. I am using the clips provided with the pistol. I have tried several name brand ammunition with the same failure rate for all. Sometimes it takes up to 3 trigger pulls to get round to fire, other times it fails to fire at all. I am contacting Taurus for repair and or replacement. as it is, it is useless for self defense or even just target practice. Very disappointed in this pistol. Should have bought a Ruger LCP instead.

The gun feels good in the hands, particularly with the 7-round mag, I usually wear L or XL gloves to give you an idea of size. Took the gun to the range and liked it. There was some Fiocchi ammo that maybe had some deeper set primers, got a FTF on several rounds (light primer strike?). But other ammo ran just fine. At 15 yards was able to group within 1', which for my skills with a DAO pistol w/2.8" barrel, is acceptable to me. Super easy to take it down with just a shell or screwdriver. I do have 1 issue that I'm trying to contact Taurus about. You look at the pics of the gun and the slide and frame/grip are flush at the rear - seemless if you were to rub it from the rear of the slide down to the beavertail frame/grip - as you would expect on a "smooth" pocket gun. On my gun, and several I've seen on YouTube reviews and such, the slide actually sits maybe just under 1mm forward. So if you were to rub down from the rear of the slide to the grip, where the slide meets the grip/frame there's a lip that will catch your finger. It's not super sharp, but it's very evident. And for a gun that's designed and destined for a pocket where all edges are smooth, this is NOT smooth. Pros: Size and ergonomics Accuracy Trigger (I'm no pro, but like it) Ease of take down and re-assembly (quick 90deg CCW turn of the take-down screw to release slide, to re-assemble just put the slide on - it re-locks itself!) Cons: Side Slide release lever a little hard to use - I ended up just pulling the slide to release it The rear edge where the slide and frame/grip meet is not flush - has an edge that can catch pocket material IMHO. I added a Hogue Handall grip, not sure I like it yet. It's slightly different color of FDE (somewhat expected). It adds palm swell (good), but with the 7-round mag that leaves a drop in swell right in the middle of the ring-finger. Without the Hogue the ring finger is sitting flush on the mag/frame.
