Springfield Armory 1911 Single 9mm 5 9+1 Cocobolo Grip Stainless Steel - Stainless/Silver, 5" Barrel, 9 Rounds, Wood Grips, 3-Dot Sights

I purchased this gun several years ago and have never had a problem with it. It's excellent in quality and performance. I highly recommend it for those who want a 1911, but in a more cost effective caliber than .45 ACP.

This is a good bang for the buck. It feels very solid with negligible slop in the slide. All of this at a great price.

Really impressed with the fit and finish of this pistol. Smooth trigger feel and great balance. Purchase process was simple and delivery was timely. Great price to boot.

It's a beautiful pistol, very accurate, over 500 rounds so far with no malfunctions. I had issues with trigger creep at first, sent it back to Springfield for repairs and got first rate service. Now it performs flawlessly every time.

The good, the bad, the ugly. First time 1911 buyer here, here's the good. It had good fit, finish. The finish is not like in the display picture where it's bright stainless with a light finish on the grips. Mine came satin stainless on the top of the slide and the bottom of the frame wrapping around the trigger guard with bright stainless on the sides of the frame where the grips mount extending to the end of the frame. Satin stainless has a grayish hue to it and it can scratch which will stand out like a sore thumb. The cocobolo wood grips were very dark like dark oak but have the crossed canon Springfield emblem embossed into the wood. The gun came with a nice hard case containing a lock, owners manual and two magazines with spaces in the foam for two more mags. The slide traveled nicely, felt good and tight with no slop. I gave the gun a cleaning and headed to the range. The first two magazines fired flawlessly, little muzzle flip recoil not bad at all, the third magazine however started jamming after the third round. Out of 150 rounds fired I probably had thirty jams or more and i kept plenty of lube on it so i'll call that the bad part. It sighted in relatively easily with just a few clicks of adjustment. The break down instructions in the owners manual were a little vague to someone like me, a first time owner. I struggled for over an hour to separate the slide from the frame because i didn't have the slide in the right position. Would it be that much trouble to have clear pictures of the position the slide should be in for break down in the owners manual or even stamped on the frame and slide? There's nothing really ugly to report about it. I'm not sure if I'll buy a Springfield Armory gun again after this though mainly because of the jamming issues I had. This isn't the only Springfield Armory gun I've had issues with out of the box and I'm not a Springfield hater, quite the opposite. I wanted more than anything for it to shoot excellent but it's not happening so far.

Really fine handgun. The slide and frame fit and finish are top notch and the grips are a real eye catcher. I've always wanted to add a 1911 9mm to my collection and after receiving then shooting this Springfield SS Range Officer I'm convinced I made the right choice. Adjustable target sights are a big plus to dial in the accuracy.

First, it's pretty. I haven't taken it to the range yet but I have put a couple of clips through it. It's a joy to shoot, and easy to break down and clean. 9mm has way less recoil than my lighter framed SIG. It seems to be very high quality. Everything fits nice and tight and the action is smooth. Everything you want

Shot 50 rounds of Remmington UMC FMJ target ammo. No issues so far. Gun is enjoyable to shoot with light recoil. Really like the fiber optic front sight combined with adjustable rear sight. Very accurate.

The Springfield Range Officer I received has run flawlessly. I have run around 350 rounds without a single hiccup. Out of the box, it is more accurate then I am. I got 2" groups @ 15yds and 5" @ 25yds. Being 9mm, it's recoil is light and muzzle rise barely pulls the sights off Target. It is an absolute joy to shoot.... keeping the mags loaded is proving to be my only challenge. Buds did a great job of processing my purchase and getting it shipped out. This experience was a favorable one and soon I hope to do it again.
