Where is it made, why doesn't Bud's post such things, or am I missing that in the description?

Frames are made in Brazil the gun is fitted and assembled in Geneseo, IL.

Springfield no longer uses forged frames/slides from Imbel in Brazil. You'll notice that their new models all have an "NM" prefix to the serial and no Imbel-Brazil markings.

I called Springfield Armory a couple days ago concerning this exact thing. The rep said all Springfield Armory 1911 slides and frames are made in Brazil and then they are shipped to the U.S. When they are here then all the internals are assembled here to complete the firearm. I was also told that only the slides and frames were made in Brazil and all other parts were manufactured here by Springfield. She also said that you might have two of the exact guns and one is stamped "Made in Brazil" and the other made in US. She said if 51% of the firearm is made in Brazil then it gets the "Made in Brazil" stamp. 49% or less made in Brazil then it is stamped " Made in USA". Therefore we have no need to worry Springfield Armory has always put out great 1911 pistols and will continue to do so no matter what is stamped on the slide.By the way mine says made in Brazil and the one I looked at that helped me decide to buy the model I did was stamped Made in USA.

Hi George, I agree on including place (and date for that matter) of manufacture on firearms. This is made by Springfield Armory in Geneseo, IL.

Great feel and weight to the gun. I put 100 rounds through it already and it shoots amazing. It's a great 1911 for the price point.

The Champion light weight Operator from Springfield is one of the best 1911 platforms I have shot. With armory coating, tritium 3 dot combat sights, accessory rail, 4" stainless steel match grade bull barrel, it is easily the best 1911 commander size weapon in the market. Reliability, accuracy, balance, and overall performance normally found only in custom 1911 platforms. Pricing levels are always awesome at Bud's! This is a true carry option for EDC...

The packing was barely there in the box. Rough handling, common in shipping, resulted in a broken part of the pistol's case. The pistol was in good condition. Waiting for target ammo to try it out.

Took about a week to ship and I was out of town when it was delivered so I had to wait another week. But when I finally took it home and took it apart and cleaned it you can tell the fit and finish is great. Haven't taken it down range yet but that will happen soon. I am pretty sure I will not have any problems with this 1911. I have owned several over the years and they are my favorite choice.
