The Savage® MSR 10 Hunter is a compact
sporting platform that still packs the punch of AR-10 chamberings. The
rifle squeezes even more performance from its upgraded Savage barrel
with 5R rifling, a 2-stage trigger, and a tough Melonite QPQ finish.
Other upgrades including a free-float fore-end, custom-forged lower
receiver and Magpul adjustable buttstock and pistol grip turn the Hunter
into the ultimate big game rifle.

This MSR 10 by Savage is extremely accurate. Shooting at 300 yards gets boring due to the accuracy. I have put several hundred rounds through it with no malfunctions. It is an awesome rifle and I highly recommend it.

Great rifle. I have this rifle in .308 win & 6.5 CM. Both rifles are very very accurate once you find the ammo they like. Rifle is on the heavy side but other than that no problems to report . Both are sub MOA rifles with the 308 shooting Federal Fusion MSR 150 gr & the 6.5 shooting the Federal Nontypical 140 gr.

Accurate, gas block works well, and at 1000 ends through the rifle I would definitely recommend. I changed the butt stock and grip as they were not desirable. The trigger is not perfect but it is above average. Only complaint is lack of support from savage in the rebarreling

Beautiful Rifle, perfect fit/finish and drives tacks! This rifle is a dream shooting suppressed and is not ammo sensitive, it eats anything and consistently shoots MOA if I do my part. Will be hard to find a better production type rifle this accurate with this many features for the money! I highly recommend this rifle…..

First the good: The gun looks good. It is built well – no rattles and fit and finish are well done. It accepts standard AR-10 magazines – comes with a Magpul 20 round magazine. The trigger is sweet; it is smooth an breaks cleanly at 3 pounds on average. The easily adjusted gas block is great. The rifle is very accurate. The not so good: The gun is billed as a “hunting rifle.” When was the last time you needed 20 rounds to take down a deer? They should at least include an additional 10 round magazine. Most hunting rifles arrive with the ability to attach a sling – not this one. The butt plate has no padding – it’s akin to a piece of tire tread. And for about $40 more you can buy a limbsaver magpul recoil pad that will bolt up to the gun but leaves a gap you can shine a flashlight through. My biggest complaint is the charging handle. With a scope properly mounted on the rifle, it is very hard to grab the charging handle. This problem could be ameliorated by replacing the charging handle with an ambidextrous aftermarket charging handle. Oh but wait, the MSR has a proprietary charging handle that is longer than the standard AR-15 and shorter that the standard AR-10. I contacted two of the top aftermarket charging handle makers and neither has any plans to make a charging handle for the Savage. Knowing what I know now would I buy it again? No.

Purchased this gun from buds. Looks amazing, well made, fires well. No FTF/FTE with cheap Winchester target ammo. One of my many purchases from buds, never been disappointed. Only thing to be careful about is the weight of the rifle (as you would expect) it is a good bit heavier than your standard 5.56 AR. But it's as smooth as can be. Cheers!
