What magazines does it take and is there any coating on the BCG like Melonite?

Zach, it takes standard SR-25 AR10 Magazines. The shortened bolt carrier is coated with nickel-boron. Its Melonite-coated bolt has twin ejectors positioned side by side. Savage also reduced the diameter of the firing pin, presumably to save a little more weight. For extra security, the firing-pin retaining pin is screwed into the carrier. The bolt-carrier key is integral to the carrier, and the gas tube receiver is pinned to the key. This eliminates the need to stake the screws that hold a conventional bolt-carrier key and does away with a potential trouble point.

This rifle has been great. I've run hundreds of rounds through it and it has been completely reliable. With cheap ammo, it is accurate, but with good ammo it is really exceptional. Highly Recommend!

Shoots amazing, around .5 moa, BUT it is pretty much a single shot because the shell casing gets stuck in the barrel and cannot eject. The ejector slips off of the spent case and I have to basically pry the case from the barrel. Savage told me to adjust the gas system first, and will try that soon. If it ejected and cycled properly, it would be 5 stars.
