  Accord to the DC laws, only "Colt AR-15 series" guns are specifically banned, as well as:
  "A semiautomatic, rifle that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine and any one of the following:
  (aa) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon;
  (bb) A thumbhole stock;
  (cc) A folding or telescoping stock;
  (dd) A grenade launcher or flare launcher;
  (ee) A flash suppressor; or
  (ff) A forward pistol grip;"

  Michael, This sporting rifle has none of the restricted features of a rifle with detachable magazine. Should be legal in D.C.

  Gary, No It is not MA compliant. Here is what BUDs said 'This firearm is not MA compliant due to the Bayonet mount, folding 6 position stock and and the action of the firearm'

  The Windham is every bit as reliable an AR as the Ruger. I would choose it over this particular Ruger and not look back due to the method/stock used to be make it CA compliant. (Same capacity of course but still better handling characteristics on the Windham).

  This California Compliant model is not available with a threaded barrel. Yes, a threaded barrel is one of the features that constitutes an Assault Weapon in California.
