Initial thoughts upon inspection was the pistol looked well made with a number of upgrades. Cleaned it and went to the range. 230 FMJ. Pistol fired flawlessly. No problems. Weighs about 40 0z. which I prefer. Comfortable recoil and accurate. Can be upgraded more; grips, sights, etc. starting with a well made basic pistol at a great price. I own a Kimber 5" and like this commander length pistol. I highly recommend it; buy one and you won't be disappointed.

Just wanted to say thank you for the quick shipping of my RIA Commander 1911-.45_ 3 days_ord.complete to signing at FFL_ Outstanding, guys_ unit in excellent condition, fit_ finish_ a-1 no rattles_ again, outstanding_ also fitted Pachmayr Grips and Wilson Combat stainless steel grip screws. Grip needed stretching to fit correctly. A custom look to unit, once assembled. Thanks for making this possible, couldn't be more pleased_ Thank you, thank you. Will update after putting rounds downrange. Stay safe/blessed_

RIA has really upped their game in recent years. I have an older Rock CS 1911 and expected this MS to be of similar quality. I was soooo wrong. The fit and finish of this new MS far surpassed my expectations and upon the initial tear-down and cleaning, was pleasantly surprised to see just how refined this pistol really is. On every gun I have ever purchased, new or used, I always bring it straight home, disassemble and give it what I call a fluff-n-buff to smooth all the internals. None of that was required on this pistol, straight out of the box it was as good or better than one I've spent hours working on to get the trigger just right. All that is required is to clean off the corrosion inhibitor, give it a light oiling and take it to the range. Without a doubt, this RIA MS is one of if not the best value of any 1911 on the market today.

Good foreign produced 1911.These guys have been doing it along time.Functions as it should.Finish wears off way to easy.

I have purchased at least 4 guns over the net from Buds. Every time the guns show up at my FFL in a short time span. I'm very happy with Bud's, and will continue to purchase from them. As for the gun. Rock Island Armory 1911s for mid 400s is awesome. Mine is currently getting a ceracote job. Love the gun for the money. Even though I have a Full size Kimber. I am thinking about buying their Full size model.

I am a manager at a small gun shop with a indoor range. I tried to find this model RIA 1911 through my distributors, but was not able to locate one. Bud's had it. Took a shot in the dark with this one. Was all set to buy something else, and on final pay day, I called Buds to change to this. Gotta love the Buds staff. Pain in the #$% I'm sure for the girl to do, but she did, and this gun was on its way instead. Bud's I appreciate the effort there. Gun: I love it. Nothin balances like a 4.25 IMHO. Just an easy shooter and fairly on target. 300 rds through so far 4 issues. 2 failure to RTB, 2 empty mag, slide didnt stay back. I think it has great promise. The grips are actually perfect. A nice wood reinforced rubber thin grip works well here, and the grips are surprisingly pleasant.
